| We're not getting real letters this year, right? Isn't it supposed to be in Portal? I think they may come out a little sooner this year is that is the case. |

I think one thing is test scores and another is decisions. Test scores are supposed to be in Portal. I don't know much about the other part but I believe the usual experts will step in. |

There were so many options this year. Not sure if we get postal mail for each of this. They streamlined the application process. Hope they will streamline the results as well in the portal.
DC applied to 2 CTE programs in non home HS, 2 IB schools (regional and IB magnet at RM), 3 programs at Poolsville, local HS signature program. I would be surprised if they decided to send 8 separate decision mails. |

Last year, Poolesville sent all three in one envelope. RMIB was in its own envelope. Acceptance / waitpool / rejection letters come on different color pieces of paper. I can’t remember if green or yellow was in vs. waiting ... (because we had both).
Local CTE came from central office on white paper. |

| Usually the acceptances are mailed so the student can sign and return a bunch of forms to accept the spot. How might the schools handle that aspect if the results are only electronic? |

Elementary and middle school magnet acceptances (the student accepting the spot) are now done through Google Forms. |

| My rising 6th grader's rejection from Eastern & Takoma came in the mail. Test scores appeared on the portal under "documents" a day before the mail came. Now we are waiting to hear about my rising 9th grader. |

Exactly in the same boat here! 5th grader receivers rejections in the mail and now we’re waiting for rising 9th grader’s results too! |

Parents of the kids who tested for middle magnet admission:
On what day the MCPS released the test results and decisions on Portal for Middle school admissions? Was it mid week or was it before the weekend? How long did it take from the test taking to getting the results? |

Knowledgeable Portal/Google forms People,
Will we or our kid get a notification? Or, do we have to check I don't want to stress her out, ad since the form was on her login and not mine, I think it will not be in my account, just hers. Is that right? I am so confused. This is my last kid, and it has always been regular mail until now! |

How were you monitoring your child grade so far? Sounds like you dont have a parent account for the portal. They should have sent the access code. Contact your child school counselor for code and register yourself. |

Nope. I do. But, the application was only in the child's portal. Parents can't access it. Be sure you know what you're talking about6 before making assumptions. Also, I've been through this process many many times, but it seems like there is a new protocol this year. |
