you are speculating Stoddard 08 will join Metro.. I won't drive from DC to RESTON 4 times a week. so Yes GRF #16 is All Metro Has while FCV is #10

You may not but some will. Stoddard players train in VA with Metro DA every week. The Stoddard 08s just went to Penn Fusion DA this weekend with Metro DA coaches for some friendlies with Penn Fusion, Pipeline, etc.

So you think stoddert is a powerhouse? It’s not. Remember DA/ECNL selection will be maybe one or two players from a team. Some of the players who kill it on the 9v9 field will have problems on the large field. Things change on the big field and older age groups. The size and speed advantages enjoyed by many players in the u- little disappear as all the players make it through puberty.

A DC player would have to drive by Arlington and Mclean to get to Metro’s practices. Depending on where you live it’s like 15-20 for Arlington, Mclean 20-30 and Tyson/Reston 35-45 minutes on good days. If in upper NW BSC or Pipeline will be easier.

A club doesn't need to be a "power house" to have 3-4 kids who are quality. Multiply that by 3 clubs and you have a core. Be a club that directly feeds a DA and parents put their kids in that program if they feel their kid can play at a higher level.

Presumably, those Stoddert parents that felt Arlington was an option had gone to Arlington already.

Also Virginia has one team that is respectable and they are not in NoVA. Maybe the pp was thinking NoVa as a weak area. It is. Look for yourself.

The entire age group is not weak. The teams in NoVa are weak when compared to the region. Arlington and Loudoun are the strongest of in NoVa.

Look instead getting all chesty on a forum, complain to your clubs. Stoddert needs to play WAGS, BSC Tournament and Jeff Cup. You play Arlington and Loudoun because they are in your league(CCL). Though the CCL is having problems. Who knows how long that mess will stay together.

When you go to JeFf Cup watch the teams in the top flight. How many of the girls on your team could play at that level? Remember Loudoun is in the second flight and Arlington is in the third. A lot of people are saying both of those placements are too high. How does your team play against those clubs?

Why do you think ranking matter? MU will be a good option for those who have been left out of the process, are upset at the current club, looking for a different coach, style of play, etc. At the clubs where they have DA and are established, girls who are on the u12 top team will make the DA roster. A good deal of these girls would not make the team if they were trying out for the club from outside of the club. They only take girls who are really really good.
Remember DA is not really about being on a high ranked team. It’s about being the 2-3 best girl on the team.

The point was made to back up the claim that a club like Stoddert easily has 3-4 quality players that can contribute at a DA level.

They probably do. The team is the 7th best U12 team in VA.

Not the pp but...if you look at Stoddert’s tournament record, they do not play the top bracket, do not play large tournaments(wags, Jeff cup, BSC, etc) and do not win the lower brackets(with exception of ASIST tournament).

Also Virginia has one team that is respectable and they are not in NoVA. Maybe the pp was thinking NoVa as a weak area. It is. Look for yourself.

Also the Stoddert is not even on the radar of the big clubs in NoVa. Stoddert’s reputation is not great.

Who care about big clubs. There are plenty big clubs that are terrible. Stoddard 08 is a little behind Arlington and better than FCV. Youthsoccerrankings has it about right. With GFR added they are going to be good and challenge Arlington.

Not if they have their 2008 team play in the 2007 age group because they can't find any 2007's. They will continue to be terrible at all ages with the exception of the 2005 team which is mediocre at best.

You ever think good talented kids don't want to play at a high level? some are happy scoring goals at CCL and knowing they could play Ecnl but why waste money. The current 08 are weak I don't see a single strong team in the DMV who next year will dominate the next league up. Except maybe vda with two powerhouses such as vsa and pwsi

I don't even understand the point you are trying to make. The age group is the age group and there really isn't anything a kid can do about it. Perhaps most of the really talented 08s are playing up at 07? How weak would 07 have to be if that were the case?

you are speculating Stoddard 08 will join Metro.. I won't drive from DC to RESTON 4 times a week. so Yes GRF #16 is All Metro Has while FCV is #10

You may not but some will. Stoddard players train in VA with Metro DA every week. The Stoddard 08s just went to Penn Fusion DA this weekend with Metro DA coaches for some friendlies with Penn Fusion, Pipeline, etc.

So you think stoddert is a powerhouse? It’s not. Remember DA/ECNL selection will be maybe one or two players from a team. Some of the players who kill it on the 9v9 field will have problems on the large field. Things change on the big field and older age groups. The size and speed advantages enjoyed by many players in the u- little disappear as all the players make it through puberty.

A DC player would have to drive by Arlington and Mclean to get to Metro’s practices. Depending on where you live it’s like 15-20 for Arlington, Mclean 20-30 and Tyson/Reston 35-45 minutes on good days. If in upper NW BSC or Pipeline will be easier.

A club doesn't need to be a "power house" to have 3-4 kids who are quality. Multiply that by 3 clubs and you have a core. Be a club that directly feeds a DA and parents put their kids in that program if they feel their kid can play at a higher level.

Presumably, those Stoddert parents that felt Arlington was an option had gone to Arlington already.

Regarding a Stoddert parent driving by McLean for Metro is not true. The reality is the difference between the two clubs can simply be a matter of turning left or right off the Beltway.

There can be 3-4 quality players on a team but they are not DA quality. If Stoddert had 3-4 DA quality players their tournament record would be a lot better. This is the first time I have seen Stoddert in the Jeff Cup(great!) and it’s in a lower flight. You may be playing against another clubs 2nd or 3rd team.
