He was in a meeting with three people: Sondland, Vindman and he forgot the third. |
Apparently VIndman said that the July phone call summary omitted key phrases mentioning Biden.
Let's see the verbatim transcript! https://thehill.com/homenews/house/468048-white-house-official-says-transcript-of-ukraine-call-omitted-key-phrases |
I see what you did there. |
"The rough transcript also contains ellipses at three points where Mr. Trump is speaking. Colonel Vindman told investigators that at the point of the transcript where the third set of ellipses appear, Mr. Trump said there were tapes of Mr. Biden." https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/29/us/politics/alexander-vindman-trump-ukraine.html#click=https://t.co/4n2hCEO00x |
can someone explain to me, please, why the record of the actual transcribed call (not a memo) not available? It is preserved, correct? |
So was Trump doing to Biden what he is accusing the dems of doing to him? |
This was discussed in the original whistleblower thread. The consensus was that no one records calls anymore since the Nixon administration. |
Yup it’s all BS and projection like everything else out of Trump’s mouth. He’s either a) mischaracterizing the broadcast of Biden when he (along with the rest of the civilized world) said that Ukraine wouldn’t get the $1.2B in guaranteed loans without firing Shokin; or b) lying about having different tapes. |
Yes, of course he was. This is his MO. Every single thing he has accused others of doing are things he himself is doing. Moral of the story? Never trust a man with gold toilets. |
I don’t think he was required to wear his uniform. So why wear it?
Might I remind you that Bergdahl and McVeigh were both veterans/military? Everyone who wears a uniform isn’t always honest. |
Here we go. |
Might I remind you that Nixon was a crook and a liar. Everyone sitting in the WH isn't always honest. In another thread about the US pulling out of Kurdish area, some military person (who knows if he was really in the military) said it was fine to pull out.. why should we be there... etc... to which I responded that the poster was an idiot to not realize the significance of having allies there. Then, someone else (or that PP) replied, in shouty capitals... HOW DARE YOU DISHONOR SOMEONE IN THE MILITARY. So, let me return the favor... HOW DARE YOU DISHONOR A *DECORATED* VETERAN. Also, I could've sworn Trumpters said military people love Trump. |
Also, it appears that the normal protocol was purposely "undone" here. There is an auto voice to text transcription that is corrected for errors by one person (like when you try to send a text by voice then have to fix the stupid autocorrects), while experts like V. who are familiar with the subject matter also edit to fill in things the regular transcriber doesn't know, like proper names, names of countries, foreign words, etc., and to be another set of ears for things the others didn't catch. Those corrections were made, but omitted from the official draft. The question is, where are the marked up copies that were ignored in the final draft? I'm also wondering if there are digital forensics that could decipher the voice to software code to text - is there a trail or something there to look at or does it all disappear? |
He’s active duty and is expected to wear a uniform when a civilian would wear a suit. He’s comfortable in it, which is good since he answers questions for 10+ hours, and probably is justifiably proud of his service. It’s not for optics - he doesn’t care about the optics, he cares about the honor, which is why he was brave enough to show up and then head back to work at the White House. |
He is so self-centered that he is basically unable to imagine the world beyond himself. The best he can do is imagine that maybe someone else was doing what he was doing. |
