If you are in your mid 30s-40s and your face looks good

No offense but it probably shows. I think OP wants to hear from attractive people, not boring 33 year olds with acne who can't be bothered to wash their face.

You’re a snatch.

I had ipl 2 times to take the brown freckles/sun spots that developed in my late 30s. I also use just a plain thick moisturizer at night and then use retin a under it every 3rd night. I feel like it's really effective and it's pretty cheap compared to using serum+ night creams that are anti aging. (I'll use the CeraVe or the Embryolisse cream ). I also use argan oil around my eyes, can find cold pressed for under $10 a bottle. Daytime it's Aveeno sensitive skin plus supergoop sunscreen now.

Even though ipl was maybe $600 total my other products are pretty cheap. Its 100 because of the retin A.

a LOT of the ladies from my HS. and I'm 39. Lots of tanning will catch you. As will sometimes that pinky/red undertone.

I have a few drop dead gorg or plain super cute friends who also have significant smile lines but that doesn't mean they don't look good. You don't have to be flawless to have good looking skin IMO.

Genetics
Lots of water
30 pounds overweight

Lasers and RF
Skin Medica line (TNS, Lytera, HA)
Retin A
Drunk elephant vitamin C and Baby Facial
Botox
Fillers (nothing drastic)

+1 for SkinMedica products. They are expensive (by my standards!), but the facial cleanser is the only thing I've found gentle enough to wash with 2x a day. Also love their TNS cream, AHA/BHA exfoliating cleanser, and their dermal repair cream (just in the winter - it is thicc). A derm recommended the line to me a couple years ago and my skin no longer gets flaky/ feels tight after washing/ then oily from over drying.

OP what do you mean by “looks good?” Are we talking JLo levels of agelessness or Gwyneth Paltrow who looks her age with the expected lines and wrinkles, but has clean, healthy looking skin? If you’re fine looking your age, basic skincare routine others have discussed is fine, but if you want jlo you’ll need basic plus fillers, Botox, lasers, unless you’re a genetic miracle whose skin doesn’t age.

Damn...this whole thread is sad. If you're in your 30-40s and your face doesn't still look good then I feel sorry for you. But then again, I'm dark skinned and don't spend much time in the sun.

I find it so idiotic when people reference celebrities who they've only seen either in print, on film, or in person with professional makeup.

I think mostly it’s genetic. Also I have more melanin - my mother is a dark-complected Latina. People routinely think I’m in my late twenties (I’m 34), but I think it’s because I’m pretty slender - this tends not to be the case among women around my age (and older), from what I see.

I have clear skin but don’t do anything unusual (no chemical peels, fillers or anything). I wash my face, use toner, eye cream, and a moisturizer with SPF. I drink a lot of water and I don’t drink alcohol.

People are merely answering the specific question posed by OP.

No I do not.

I know a lot of people in their 60s without any wrinkles. They're all AA. Pretty common.

I’m 42 and started Botox 2 years ago and no longer have crows feet or 11’s. I’m thrilled.
I wash my face with Cetaphil twice a day, sunscreen on summer, plenty of sleep, drink a ton of water, slather on skin cream every night, and wear good (ie expensive) but light makeup for a natural look, think BB creams and soft blush, mascara and tinted lip gloss.
My skin is soft and no wrinkles or acne so I think I’m doing well

Lol I knew the angry, wrinkled Gwyneth fan would come out!

+1. Non POC- I’ve never see any over 60 without a single wrinkle.
