+1. Cheap-ass cookies. |
omg! flashback to mid-90s! do they still make them? |
Hydrox or whatever those fake oreos are called. |
Cheap gingersnaps or cheap pfeffernusse (those things that look like white rocks that appear at Christmas). |
I was going to say Lofthouse until I read this. I completely forgot about Snackwells, but yeah, they all tasted weird and chemically. They get my vote for worst cookie. |
Idk. I’ve been begging for a pop tart with just crust and icing and no filling for years. |
Us too! Love the Lofthouse crap. It’s surprisingly tasty. Dislike Fudge Stripes and Fig Newtons. |
But Snackwells are supposed to be lower-calorie or something? I get why they taste weird. |
Tate's. Hard as peanut brittle, basically just all sugar. Teeth hurting.

There are boxes of cookie only oreos-I've seen them at restaurants where they serve oreo shakes. Or you could try Nabisco famous wafers (the chocolate cookies in icebox cake) and see if those work for you. |
Yes, you definitely can buy just the wafers. https://www.amazon.com/Nabisco-Famous-Chocolate-Wafers-Container/dp/B006UH106U/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=chocolate+wafer+cookies&qid=1568737019&s=gateway&sr=8-4 (The price there is ridiculous but you can get them on the highest shelf at major grocery stores, including Wegmans and Giant. I'm just showing the amazon page for the image. |
This will be controversial, but I will offer up Thin Mints as being the worst purchased cookie. The "chocolate" coating tastes of nothing but wax and the mint flavor is there to distract you from the weird texture of the coating and the complete blandness of the cookie. Step up your game, girlscouts! (I say that as a girlscout parent who would really like to enjoy some of the cookies that I purchase). |
I don't know if I would nominate Thin Mints as worst, but they definitely win for most disappointing. I used to love them, and now I've told my mom to stop sending them to our family because no one wants them. This is compared with Chips Ahoy and Fudge Stripes, which I thought were trash even when I was a kid. |
They are all terrible OP. It's kind of like canned soup -- once you make it ... it is horrible to eat from a can or carton.
Same with cookies -- once you make them homemade...it is horrible to eat them out of a bag from the supermarket. Bottom line...make your own soup and cookies -- cheaper and healthier! |
Actually Hydrox came first, Oreo is the imitation. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrox But I agree neither are very good anymore |
