Succession - season 2

Great end to the 2nd season - perfectly acted, written, and directed.

I felt that Logan was actually goading Kendall into taking some sort of action to prove his fitness to become the next CEO. The only person worthy to replace Logan is the person who decapitates Logan, similar to the monarchies of yesteryear (or Saudi Arabia today).

The show really does feel like a Shakespearean drama.

It was great, though not much of a shocker to me that Kendall was not going to take the fall. Remember when Greg told Ken at Shiv’s wedding that he kept copies of the destroyed documents? They didn’t include that bit in the recap before this episode but I knew Ken would use that information to his advantage. When Ken was getting into the helicopters with Greg with him, I was like, yep.

On second rewatch of the last 25 minutes of the show, I think Shiv and Kendall planned this together!

It's corporate Game of Thrones. The perfect replacement for the GoT time slot!

Do you guys think Tom was being honest on the beach or just holding a gun to his marriage to ensure Shiv’s support with Logan?

Also I hope they don’t reset it but I think they’ll be able to just by like, the shareholders scatter because Kendall’s play wrecks the company value and then Roman’s private funding comes through and Logan stays on top.

How is there a scenario that Logan doesn't go to jail/get charged for this?

And why was Ken even an option to take the fall? All these coverups happened in the 90s I believe, so he was like 20.

Ken was involved in the coverup. Remember the guy Tom took over for was in deep. There were scenes in season 1 where Ken and old cruises guy were talking anxiously.

Also to a pp I feel like Tom on the beach was maybe the most honest Tom of all. Whether he keeps it up is another question.

I’m rewatching now to see if I agree you. My instinct says yes because she was allllll over the place at the tail end.

I agree with a PP who thinks Tom was his most real self on the beach. He does *not* want an open marriage and she was a shit for suggesting it on their wedding night.

There's a theory that Logan was in on it too. That him and Ken planned it. That's why he had that smile on his face at the end. I don't really agree with it but I dunno.

Soooooo so so so good! Logan’s tiniest smile at the end- because Kendall finally earns his respect with that dagger maneuver. I think Kendall wasn’t planning on betraying his father- this was the end he thought he deserved after killing the waiter and trying to overthrow his dad. But when Logan called the dead waiter a “NRPI” or whatever the acronym was-and then told Kendall he didn’t have what it takes to run the company- well, then, Kendall does an abrupt about face and realizes the karma he thinks he deserves is nothing compared to the karma earned by his pops. So good. Such excellent writing and acting. This finale was superb!

What if Logan tells the truth about the dead waiter though?
