Succession - season 2

Such a good episode.

Also, it seems that Tom is about to throw Shiv under the bus. He asserted his independence when he voiced backing Rhea as CEO. It looks like he will be testifying on the hot seat next week - I don’t envision him taking the fall for the company. Either way, he knows his marriage is over.

Oh, I disagree completely.

It was only a moment but it showed me fraternal loyalty that I hadn't otherwise expected and real grit from Ken to shout at his dad in that moment.

It also revealed a back story of years of violent outbursts.

So for me in this moment they ALL became so much more human

I agree about the back story but I thought what it showed was how there are no consequences for anything he does. Ken is the weakest figure and him yelling was just to calm the immediate moment - no one is going to do anything about it. No one even considers it. He’s allowed to hit his children with no consequences from anyone, including his children.

Me too, I don't see their marriage being over, but it will always be complicated.

I was really disappointed that he kept telling Jessica or whoever the actress was that he will make sure she's okay for missing two nights of her play and then he essentially ghosted her because she said awesome twice.

I thought that was completely in keeping with his character - spineless and entitled. But yes, gross.

I think he ghosted her because his father didn't seem impressed by her. She told Ken that he talked about his father a lot and when she interacted with his father she gushed over him (maybe too much for his liking), but Ken saw that his father clearly was not impressed by her and what Ken's father thinks is extremely important to him.

That's fine but he didn't have to ghost her and let some assistant send her home.

He was embarressed that she didn't have anything to say other than "this is awesome'. I don't think she gushed over the father, I don't think she gave a crap about the father and in fact was sick of Kendal talking about him. She clearly wouldn't fit into the Roy family (even though the brothers' girlfriends have). He was a prick to have her shipped off.

It's "Gregory" now and he is one of my favorites on the show. He comes accross as so naive yet he is very strategic and smart.

I love this show too, such good writing! And entertaining! One of the best shows in the past few years.

I do like how Shiv screwed Rhea, but I'm surprised that Logan didn't see how he was getting played. I feel sorry for Marcia. She may be complicit in all of this but I still view her as an innocent bystander.

Logan didn't know the "whistle blower" was about to blow. He told them (operation don't f*** up team) to take care of it. He trusts his kids too. Someone is offering more to the whistle blower than 20Mil....Sandy? Pierce family? That politician Shiv worked for?

I thought the whistle blower was Logan’s brother

+2

But perhaps that’s what they’d like us to believe

Agree, Greg is one to watch.

Also, Roman is a blowhard but he hasn’t really done anything underhanded. I love his dynamic with Gerri.

I'm the poster you quoted and yes, I agree with you completely.

But the actor playing Greg is 2 dimensional in his performances. Its not interesting and it won't likely evolve.
