Good for you. I'm a Mainer and I won't be voting for her and she has faced TONS of criticism up here. In Q1 she only got donations from 11 Maine residents. Like her all you want but her road up here is steeply uphill. |
Well said. She is brave and I celebrate her too. |
I seriously doubt you're a "Mainer," but ok. ![]() |
+ another million And, it was a carefully planned and well-financed effort to thwart the confirmation of an extremely well-qualified judge. Loved Susan Collins' speech. And, I think the Kavanaugh hearing was most of the reason Republicans retained the Senate in 2018. The majority of Americans were disgusted by the actions of the Dems. |
which party do you think susan collins would run for president with? she's not a democrat - and not even a white washable democrat, after her disgraceful kavanaugh vote. and you think the party of trump would go on to elect susan collins? that's a good one. |
You know who "misjudged the blowback"? Democrats when they participated in the horrific spectacle that was their attempt to take Kavanaugh down over a decades old allegation with zero evidence. They sorely misjudged that blowback. |
I absolutely think "the party of Trump" would elect Collins. We'll never know, of course. |
This. Every time I think back to that hearing, my skin crawls. I was an independent before that, but now I'm certain I'll never vote for a Democrat. |
We hope! |
And yet, strangely, managed to win the House by the largest margin on record. How does the work again? |
Same here. It was one of the most disgusting things I have seen in my life, and all Dem Senators were complicit. |

Your skin crawls ... but not because a big red-faced man baby was whining and crying because he might not get the ice cream cone he was promised and IS ENTITLED TO? His behavior was utterly gross and exactly what I'd expect from someone like him. |
You are completely unhinged. I would expect anyone who was accused of something (that they flatly DENIED, btw) to behave defensively. Especially when it's clear that the firing squad asking the questions has already made up their minds that said person is guilty - regardless of having no evidence to back up that judgment. Thank goodness common sense saved the day. And Susan Collins, of course. |
Pyrrhic victory for Collins. She's toast. |
