No, but divisions and team levels are designed exactly for that, else they wouldn’t exist. Not sure what you think fair means, but it does not mean equal. It means relatively at the same level of competition within a range. Yes, it is good to challenge kids. Not sure stacking the opponent is the best way to accomplish that goal, but agree to disagree.

The point is, at these young ages they really don’t exist. There is not enough history to do so. Scores are not even recorded in league play at these ages.

They do exist. Maybe not in NCSL, but in other leagues and in EVERY tournament they do.

I am curious as to why you say that. I don't know him personally, and we didn't play him Sunday, but I didn't notice him doing anything rude or mean when we did. I would say he seemed a bit controlling and had some rules that were not part of what we usually do (like requiring the kneeling for injured players that someone raised as a joke a bit back - we usually just ask the kids to stand still in place). But we won the game, and he was polite about it.

Divisions are not designed for fairness, they are designed to put teams of roughly the same level together. Because teams don’t like to play against other teams that crush them or teams that are too easy. Otherwise there would only be one division and if you weren’t good enough to make the top level you wouldn’t play.

Sorry but your post did not at all read like a joke.

The joke was supposed to be that if I thought it was a serious issue and wanted to complain, I would call people out on it directly at the time. But DH says that didn't come across at all. Sorry.
