That sounds like a personal complaint, not the city's problem. You can't afford to raise 3 to 4 kids in the city? Boo-hoo. Move. |
Jeff has said often that this board is represented by majority UM white women. Until 2010, DC was majority Black Working and middle class, from which I came. Im sure you have far more insecurities than I can ever imagine. |
NO. How does this translate to transplants from southern and midwestern states? Source? |
+1. PP just needs to say she resents and hates other DCUM posters and stop trying to pawn it off on what "normal America" thinks. |
PP here—this isn’t really happening in our neighborhood. It’s a fairly affluent area with some folks that are intent on keeping it low-density and low-traffic. I mean, I get it, but you need density to attract better amenities, and the attitude contributes to the lack of affordable housing. |
This. And you left out every member of the family has a large car. |
But, "normal America" is the Republican party, yes? I agree that there is hypocrisy on the left, if they swung hard right, how would that leave diversity and the environment? |
Ouch. |
Don't kid yourself. Most democrats secretly clamour world travel, luxury SUVs and (incredibly white) private schools |
I don't resent you. I feel sorry for you. You've only just begun to see the storm coming for you ![]() |
SF is unlivable. You couldn't pay me $5 million a year to live in that hell hole. Homeless have more rights than homeowners. Homeless piss and shit on the sidewalks in front of your house or in your yard. Hypodermic needles, hepatitis, and literally 20 lbs bags of shit thrown in the streets:
https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/San-Francisco-human-waste-feces-homeless-Reddit-13044317.php The areas around main squares in SF smell like horrible shit and piss, especially during the summer. No, not the seedier parts of town, but literally the main drags that are supposed to be for shopping/tourism/business. Then you have to pay $4000 per month for the privilege of it all for a 1 BR 1 Bathroom apartment with junkies passed out on the street outside your building. But the best part is that if you make money, SF and CA can't wait to sock you in taxes. There are tons of horror stories will junkies and homeless will setup tent encampments in peoples' backyards, and of course due to SF's out of control liberal politics, police can do very little to remove them. They just keep coming back and back and back shooting up and leaving biohazard waste everywhere. SF is a shithole beyond belief and it is certainly unlivable, especially given its cost. I flat out rejected very good job offers from firms in that area specifically because of how squalid it has become and the insane cost of living even for six figure earners. |
What storm? If you're talking political, newsflash - I'm as liberal as they come (and live in DC - liberal haven) but DJT's policies have done nothing but help my bottom line. It's you who should be worried. The economy of the midwest is tanking fast with half the states underwater, literally thanks to flooding and financially thanks to trade embargos, which is causing their state economies to go bankrupt. The South too is under-pressure, although its of their own making - with economic boycott movements starting in Georgia, Alabama, Missouri, and Mississippi because of their heartbeat bills last month. Meanwhile D.C. has HQ2 which the entire country was fighting over, retail and restaurants opening up daily, and corporate headquarters like Google and Facebook opening up larger offices here. Oh, and last but not least, the Kushner family (you know - the president's son-in-law?), just invest $1 Billion in D.C. real estate. I'm not worried. You should be. |
+1 what an idiot. |
Oh honey ![]() |
