+1
It was a joyful experience! Now I avoid it at all costs.

This is what competing with online shopping looks like. They have to compete with prices found on amazon. That means cutting staff.

Why is anyone surprised?

Amazon prices are absurdly high - what are you talking about??

People were loving strolling through Target and purchasing things and Target wrecked it for no reason, spending lots of money to do it.
Now they’re going to have to spend more money to fix it when their profits drop like a rock off a cliff.
It’s 100% stupid.

You’re going to willingly travel to Woodbridge???

Exactly. This ridiculous reorganization - across all stores in the country - must be costing an outrageous amount of money that could all have been saved had they stuck to their original layout. I'd love to see a chart depicting their sales before and after the reorg. Surely they must be inundated with customer complaints?!

So where do you buy your non-specialty paper and pantry items? These all used to be my Target list.

I like Walmart better than Target. I think they have a better selection. I think the prices are better. Target tends to have a lot of trendy clothing. Walmart tends to have more basics and I think the quality's better. It's just not worth the trek to Germantown most of the time.

I would love Rockville to have a Walmart, but I think they blocked it when it tried to come in. It took forever to get a Target. Rockville has a lot of good points, but sometimes they get snooty about things in a way that reminds me of the DCUM "Is this trashy?" posters.

Wal Mart has endless trashy sweatshop made clothes, plastic crap manufactured in China that no one needs to buy, bikes so cheaply made the wheels fall off meat from factory farmed tortured animals and crappy processed food that no one should eat - all at low prices. Employees are paid slave wages with no benefits. Rockville does not need a Wal Mart to come in and replace better businesses and no - no one needs to buy the crap that they sell.
Target is a shade above Wal Mart but just a shade.ooks like they’re starting to sell more cheap useless crap now too which is unfortunate. No one needs all of that throw away fashion , for instance. I wish that they were headed the opposite way but it doesn’t look like it.

Time to take a break from shopping at Target. Show them what you think in a way they’ll understand.

This is OP back. After allllll this rigamarole just trying to get the elusive size 4 shoes for my 11yo, ordering them online on Monday after couldn't find anything in the two disheveled stores over the weekend, springing for the coordinating "little girl" ones for my 6yo because, what the heck, might as well coordinate, even though she didn't really *need* them. . .

I got an email from Target last night saying: wait for it: they cancelled my order for the size 4 shoes because of "an error on their part."

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT?????????????????????????????????

Target, you really STINK now!! This is just the worst customer service ever!

I actually braved Target today, eternally optimistic. I’m here right now and about to tear my hair out with frustration. Can’t get my cart through the absurd displays. Nonsensical brownie mix and icing next to sundresses. OMG, I wish someone from corporate was walking around right now, taking note of all the pissed off customers with disgusted looks on their faces, cursing under their breath. What a dump. Now I know for sure and won’t be back. So mad at you, Target!!!

Ditched Target about 5 years ago. Had to go last week and wow, ours was remodeled and I love it. Also saw some clothes I liked. Will start shopping there again.

I know! Everyone shopping there is now stressed and ticked-off, as we all wheel our carts around and around, looking up and down aisles, trying to politely grit our teeth as we navigate around one another. IT STINKS!

Target has always sold this crap, they were just shrewd enough to market it as "collabs" with famous peoples' faces on it (looking at YOU and your terrible Hearth and Hand, Chip and Jojo!). It is all the same crap as walmart, just packaged differently to attract a different demographic.

Somehow I feel like this is a planted post by Target PR. I know of zero people who actually like the “new” Target.

I just got back from the Rockville one. I don't mind the new layout, but the quality of the new-ish clothing lines that replaced Merona and Mossimo is disappointing. When I went a few months ago, I bought a few A New Day basic tees, and some Cat & Jack bodysuits for DS. Everything has stretched and pilled in the wash to the point of being unwearable--even DS's stuff, which I washed on the gentle cycle.
