MM could rewear an outfit, especially a coat, every now and then, you know. High street fashion (mass market brands from a store like Macy's) don't cost a fortune and would have been more appropriate in this instance. It doesn't take a lot of money to dress well, look nice and know your audience.

I repeat, she is tone-deaf. Especially since the British public is critical of her extravagant clothing choices.

No, I am not. My position on this is that one should be extremely skeptical about bad press about MM and not lap it up naively as if it were gospel truth. I do not (and do not pretend) that I know anything genuine about MM (or Kate, for that matter). The only one I am willing to make much of a statement about is William and that's based solely on documented actions of his (his published work and travel schedule).

I don't pretend Kate or MM is my BFF or worst enemy or whatever weirdo thing you think.

I really liked her until these bad press reports came out right around Eugenie's wedding. Now it's hard to look at her the same. Whoever did this knew what they were doing-- as for the person who said royal fam has been doing this for decades--- its worse than that-- it's centuries! I don't think she'll last long, and I do think she is much more of an opportunist than anyone realized when she was first introduced.

Yes, I lost a lot of respect for her after Eugenie's wedding. It's obvious she knows the cameras are on her all the time, they hadn't announced the pregnancy yet and then she goes and wears that coat leaving it conveniently buttoned so as to spurn pregnancy speculation. Odd considering they left for their tour a day or two after that and there were so many outfits worn during the tour that completely concealed whatever belly she had at the time. It was obvious she was wearing the coat like that for attention which would have been fine if she wasn't using someone else's wedding to bring the focus back to her.

You don't understand how media manipulation works. Select kernels of information will be true. Some will be outright fakes. But they'll be mixed up. And often, the leaker(s) will carefully choose what is leaked that is true, leaving out key facts or mitigating details, encouraging the press to draw its own conclusions. The fake information will be vague, deliberately so.

For example, the leak about Kate crying at a dress fitting was a perfect example. Likely Kate was crying. The basic fact was probably true. But the linkage of Kate crying because of MMs behavior was implied, and encouraged. The details are deliberately vague and withheld, so gullible readers will fill in the blanks they want.

What's going on with MM is textbook media manipulation. You are just falling for it.
