Are the creatures doing this for a reason or is it just a side effect of their nature. At some points in the film it appears that the creatures are chasing humans, mimicking voices, etc. If they had some physical presence and just wanted humans to die why wouldn't they attack the derfenseless humans. Why would they want them to die in the first place. The creatures could be like the cuttle fish whose rapid color changes cause some kind of neurological damage even though they may not necessarily be trying to harm humans.

Maybe they are aliens that need/want to inhabit human bodies, but only the insane can host them and survive?

There's no evidence in the film that they are using humans as hosts and it sounds like a failed strategy to only inhabit the insane.

Ok. These sound like questions for the author, and are maybe outside the scope of the story.

Obviously a lot of this movie is up for interpretation but I thought that it was much more of a psychological thriller than a horror film. The creatures represented the negative voices in our heads that affect so many people, i.e. depression, anxiety, angst, low self-esteem, etc. When we believe them, give into them, listen to them, or in the case of the movie remove the blindfold & see them, we die. We're living in a world where social media brings us together on some levels but also disengages us from one another a lot. It also aids in depression, anxiety, comparison, jealousy, etc. That girl in the hospital that was looking at her phone and then started banging her head on the glass was showing that. I think the end scene with all of the blind people connecting with one another was really telltale.

I loved it. Did it make perfect t sense? No. But for me it was the right amount of scary without being too over the top.

I will watch Sandra Bullock read the phonebook, so of course I tuned into this movie!

It was very timely what with current political climate and shutdown.

For us, the delusional people who could 'see' the monster without repercussions and wanted everyone to see it, taking delight in their destruction represented die hard Trump fans. Like 100% commitment, no convincing them they are wrong, just taking delight in the world as we know it ending, with no forethought of a master plan when they get their way.

I saw it with a group and everyone was talking about this- everyone took away the same feeling- like 'what is our world coming to?' Funny no one else has mentioned that here.

Perhaps because that's a crazy thing to take from this movie and not at all what normal people would read into it?? Trump is not part of this movie; do not bring politics into this thread.

The words of someone in a bubble.... Also, this could probably be an example of group think, where one persons opinion, influences the responses/thoughts of others in the group.

The one thing I couldn’t understand is what fillers Bullock has?! They are amazing. Does she also have mild Botox? We was able to move her forehead. Quite impressive!

To me she looked so different - yet at the same time it was like she was wearing a mask of her former self. It was distracting. But her acting was good.
