Sounds like a recipe for disaster. We already know opiates are highly addictive; so addicts need to be even more cautious. My one acquaintance who is sober avoided opiates at all costs (even dealt with a serious hand injury without them.) Current thinking is that most pain can be handled with ibuprofen and minimal
opiates.

I thought this. How is it that I get pain meds after major surgery dispensed at minimal doses? (Once I was prescribed 1 tablet). And ridiculous how hard I have to work to get Adderall or alternatives regularly for DS. But celebrities (and drug addicts) always seem to have plenty.

He alluded to getting pills from elsewhere. And he admitted to taking some from his dying father.

Sounds like a lame publicity stunt.

Of course. My guess is that these accidents are also only so accidental, if that makes sense.

I had 4 wisdom teeth removed and had to drive home after (lots going on including a new born and 2 year old) so they said Advil would suffice. Same with c-section recovery. It's better to be in some pain than open yourself to much much much more pain down the line.

There are multiple people here who don't like Monica - I'm one of them and I didn't write any of those PPs. I've listened to the podcast - Monica is Dax and Kristen's employee. They pay her.

Again, I think it's more than one person. Anyway, I don't know a single person who listens to Armchair Expert that likes Monica. She's very annoying.

I'm Indian, and her hating on Indian people and culture all the time is just crazy. Her insistence that her mom grew up here, so she's not Indian. Her denial of Indian-ness and refusal to admit that she's part of that culture is absurd. My children are half Indian, they understand how the culture fits into their life, why can't this grown woman?

But the fact that Dax spilled his relapse to her before Kristen tells me Monica needs to move on (unless she’s his official sponsor, which she is not).

Wow, really?

BEFORE HIS WIFE, yes, really.

I think this dealt with him quarantining from traveling (at Kristin's insistence), and as a result, she was responsible for giving him his doses, and was suspicious counting the pills. So yeah, naturally, she would have realized it earlier. You guys are seriously reading into things.

If I heard the interview correctly, he was having trouble keeping up with lies to, among other people, Monica (his business partner in the podcast, amongst many other roles). When it all started to unravel, and he had to come clean about what was going on, he and Monica were in the car going somewhere. He expressly told Monica that Kristen had to be there before he explained any further what was going on. That was out of respect for Kristen.

He also said it was Monica questioning him and suspecting something was up. Not a word about Bell also suspecting. Monica was not dosing his meds, PP. She said she’d done it another time when Bell was away, which is why she recognized some of the signs. Still sounds to me that there are three people in that marriage.

Who knows. Maybe there are? This is the dynamic it's been for years, and (drug/sobriety issues aside) it doesn't seam like anyone has a problem with it and they all get along. Marriages look different to different people.

I think there's one psycho who's projecting their own issues onto Monica though. Like maybe she's mad her tall DH left her for a short Indian woman. Who knows, but they have a weird, visceral, and terribly unhealthy hatred of someone they don't know at all.

I'm Indian. You sound unhinged defending a Z list podcaster. I missed it where Dax "left" his wife for this woman or do you have intel they're having an affair? Being some D list drug addict's side piece is hardly boast-worthy.

Ha! FYI, this is a DIFFERENT Indian PP LOL

So both Monica and her mother were born and raised in the US. They may very well not have an affinity or allegiance to a country of their ancestors that isn’t there own. Why does it bother you that they only identify as Americans? PPs are right, you do need help that she bothers you this much.

He had major surgery after the motorcycle accident; way more involved that wisdom teeth or c-section and, for the latter, I got an Oxy script for about 3x as many days as I needed. Also, remember that doctors may not have been as careful as they would have been because he previously didn't have an opiates issue (I realize an addict is an addict sometimes, but not all the time... and his previous issues were w/ alcohol and coke, which are pretty different) and had allegedly been sober 16 years. Also, he did have a distribution system for them and didn't just hold the pills himself, so there were some checks in place.

I feel like Dax and Kristen are both very into the fact that they married another celeb. They wouldn't be as well known if they ended up with someone out of the public eye.

And no, her mom does super identify as Indian. Her dad is an Indian immigrant. Monica talks all the time about how she hates being Indian, she wishes she wasn't Indian, etc. - it's weird. Also, don't talk about stuff you don't know anything about.

She'd be famous, he wouldn't! I still don't really know why he's famous? I've never seen anything he's been on. I've listened to the podcast a few times and find him annoying. That said, I don't love Kristen either. Which is terrible because I LOVED Veronica Mars and I LOVED the Good Place. I don't like actual Kristen though

On the contrary, I have no clue who she is and have never seen anything she's been in... while I have seen Dax (haven't listened to his podcast though).
