Royal Baby Name Suggestion/Prediction Thread

“The Windsors aren’t related to the Tudors.”

Of course they are. They wouldn’t be ruling if they weren’t in that line somewhere. Elizabeth II can be traced to Henry VII and back, through Mary Queen of Scots’ / James I’s line.

Bridget is very Irish. I don't see that flying with the Royals.

Yes, of course there is a genealogical connection but the House of Tudor ended with Elizabeth I. It would make no sense to revive the name as a middle name.

Henry VII —- daughter was Margaret Tudor, who married the Scottish king — her granddaughter was Mary, Queen of Scots, whose son was James I and Vi, who fathered Elizabeth Stuart, Queen of Bohemia (the Winter Queen), whose daughter Sophia became the heiress presumptive under the Act of Succession of 1701. Her son George Louis became George I, the first Hanoverian king in 1714. Sophia died before Anne (the last Stuart Queen and the most obnoxious one, in my opinion anyway)

That doesn't make the current family either Tudors or Hanovers.

They are Mountbatten-Windsors. That is their dynasty.

The name Windsor was created during WWI, named after the castle.

Yes, to make this extraordinarily German family seem more British.
