| Couldn't you just change over to the cheapest HMO available to you? |
I love American math. |
+1. But hey, it's fun to blame Trump. I remember the good ol' days under Obama when everyone made a million dollars, healthcare was free for everyone and college tuition was just $999 a year! |
Yes, I could but I prefer a ppo. I don’t want to switch providers and if something bad happens healthwise, I want to be able to go with the providers I want, not those selected for me. |
It is and he makes it so easy. |
Then they will again be able to buy less expensive insurance that doesn't actually cover anything, and certainly not pre-existing conditions. But they will enjoy the illusion that they are covered, at least until someone actually gets sick. No one will be happier than insurance companies if the ACA goes away. |
| go back to work. problem solved. |
Did you miss the part where I said he keeps getting activated and is frequently away anyway? The next birthday I have with my husband will be 3 years since the last. |
Op here: I didn’t say it was a problem for me. I can afford it. Since others may not be able to and won’t have budgeted for it, im passing on the info. |
Yes, pre existing conditions were waived if you had prior coverage and the coverage was in the last 60 days. Some plans asked for proof of coverage via a HIPAA certificate, others just accepted your word. Without the certificate it was plan by plan on the exclusion and the waiting period. |
These are choices your family made. Stop crying about it. |
| Op thanks for posting. Sorry you are dealing with some loser lunatics. We also can’t think about retiring early at this point due to health care costs. I appreciate the insight into yours. |
| I'll chime in as well OP. Thank you very much for sharing. There are a lot of jerks on this board. Hopefully they don't discourage people from sharing information or perspectives that could be helpful and/or possibly interesting to at least some people on this board. It's a shame there are so many classless a-holes who have nothing better to do than to post insults behind the spineless anonymity of a forum. |
| We are also in our mid 40 and want to retire soon, still have kids in elementary and middle school. Any thoughts about moving to Canada, in terms of health care and education ? |
Thanks for the nice words. I appreciate it. |
