Why aren't MoCo Dems rallying around Jealous for Governor?

Jealous would rightly engage in redistribution which hypocritical moco “dems” abhor.

Shame on moco Dems

Neoliberal scum of the highest order

So you are a socialist who supports redistribution of wealth? Most Americans and most Marylanders aren’t on board with that.

Hate to tell you this but you are a socialist, too. You drive on roads, use libraries, use public schools, among other things that are provided to you through socialism so just stop.

Kid, I think you need to grow up. You are hardly being persuasive here.

When someone uses words like "shame" and "neoliberal scum" I know exactly who I'm dealing with. An angry juvenile who got lost on the way to the Antifa chatroom

The problem with Jealous is that he's the type that wants a platform to pontificate his ideas rather than actually govern. He seeks out national exposure and completely disregards campaigning to help the people he would govern or connecting with them in anyway. He's very similar to Josh Starr who couldn't be bothered to do his job as superintendent or worry about running the school system and instead just focused on making a bigger name for himself, tweeting his grand ideas, and blogging.

The democratic party is seeing a number of new politicians try to climb up the ranks which is not a bad thing at all. The problem though is that some are just spot light seekers rather than those willing to focus on the governing and balancing of constituent interests. These candidates are bad because instead of getting washed out in the primaries they sustain themselves with funding from their external connections. They then lose the general elections big time wasting an opportunity for their party to get someone who does connect with the voters in office.

Its a real shame because the democratic party lost a winnable seat by putting someone like Jealous up on the ticket.

Hahha... so wrong.

MoCo is where we have:
- bag tax on paper and plastic, even though paper bags are recyclable and made from 100% recycled materials
- gov't money to non-profits that defend illegal immigrants
- small business loan program to duplicate the federal SBA program, for recipients whose idea wasn't good enough for SBA
- $15/hour minimum wage pushed by unions
- rain tax (I believe Hogan got rid of this one finally)
- tree tax
- county monopoly on liquor sales and distributiion

There's a reason MoCo is considered so UNfriendly to business. Would love it to have some business-minded, socially-moderate Republicans come here and run the place for a stint.

Don’t forget the calories on restaurant menus - that always is a buzz kill

Actually that's part of Obamacare (applies to larger restaurant chains) but I don't mind that one. At least then I can choose.

+1
I would love that as well. Democrats have really scared off businesses in Maryland. This election is a great opportunity to send the message that we want more socially- moderate Republicans across the entire state.

I'm voting for Jealous because I'm white and voting against a black man is racist. And I'm no racist. And voting for Jealous proves that.

You’re kidding right? Most Black people have at least 20% of European genes. Ben Jealous I’d venture is at least 40-45% Euopean genes based on looks alone. I’m pretty sure you can vote against him and not be racist. -A Black woman

He's a troll. Plus Rutherford (Hogan's running mate) is black!

One of his parents is WHITE.

Yeah, that's a troll.

I would never have known Ben Jealous was black unless the media told me was. Looks mostly white to me, and I'm white.

Anyhow, I'm voting for Jealous because I think Republicans have jumped the shark and that it is fairly dangerous to have a governor who is republican at this point, they seem to have chosen party over country...even if I like Hogan in general.

Same. He has my vote. I hope he wins.

That is literally what you were doing.

Hogan has governed from the center. He is not “dangerous”.
