I am wondering whether most people purchase their first house with some help from family (and jointly with a partner).

Homes are at all time affordability.

25, right after we got married. A 2011 purchase of a condo off H street that paid off. We sold it for almost 2x what we paid for it 5 years later and now have a large, recently renovated row house in Petworth.

30, 1997, while I bought it with my H he did not contribute to the down payment and I paid off some debt of his before we bought.

We did an 80/10/10.

No family help and we eloped and my family did not pay for a wedding, but bought us a kitchen table.
