| No family. Age 30 for DH. I met him shortly after. |
| I met my DH at GMU at age 20. We purchased our first house when we got out first white collar jobs. That was in December of 2000, we were 23. The reason we could afford this is we went to a state school, didnt take out loans and didnt waste or time in grad school. We also were comfortable combining finances and renting the basement to roommates to supplement our mortgage. We're now 40 and on house #4, an investment property and a vacation home that we rent out on occasion when we are not using it. |
| 43. |
| 2000. Age 26. |
| 32 bought for 1 million but had saved up $450k from saving every cent for about 5 years of living in a very cheap area of Baltimore in a crappy one bedroom apartment (while making decent salaries). |
|
Dh- 25 with no help. But it was a condo.
Dh and me - 33 with no specific house help but we had help for wedding and college so no debt. |
So, you didn’t get into grad schools then? |
| 27 but it was only a rowhouse in Logan Circle |
Huh? Reading is fundamental. |
| 45 as a single mom. |

Age 30 in 2009. I put in 80% of the down-payment and fiance put in the balance. It was all our earned money, no gifts, although our parents have been generous in other ways.
We are married and still live in the house. |
I think most people who were raised here and stayed here got help from mommy and daddy |
| 28 in 1998. Townhouse in Clarendon. 1 year out of law school. No help and $100 k in student loans. Worked 2 years before law school to pay off undergrad loans. |
| Age 29, on my own (no spouse or partner). I'm now 40 and still live in that house. |
| 1999; I was 28. It was on Capitol Hill |
