Best Private School for Indian Origin kids

Anonymous
OP, am I to understand correctly that you just submitted an application now to Sidwell in hopes of your child starting there this September? If so, you are truly clueless.

No, the OP is just a crazy troll. Ignore and move on.

As for Sidwell accepting applications this late in the year, I highly doubt they would make such an exception to their admissions process. Schools occasionally do, but only for students who have moved abruptly after an admissions deadline.

The troll seems to imply that those who think it's crazy are "anti-Indian," when most people -- Indian or not -- find crazy repulsive.

OP is a troll. Sidwell has no spots at this point and if they happened to have one for a particular grade...yes, it would go to someone who happened to have moved to this area recently...a CEO's kid or some other high profile kid.

Indian Origin is the beefing of August 2017

You are a troll OP and sound as though you have some mental stuff.

Children of all ethnicities should be treated equally and more imprortantly LOVED. Schools play a critical role in this.

Do your child a favor and send them to a magnet public or Wilson High.

My DD attends Bullis and has many Indian girlfriends. They tend to live in Potomac. They have open spots for some grades, so check it out. I highly recommend it.

Just a note of advice OP if you are for real. You sound like such an obvious striver. Your kids will not make it in private school circles with such a striver attitude. Stick to TJ if you can get in.

We visited Landon and that was nearly all white even though we were impressed with the academics and the few Indians there told Landon parents treat them like crap and never invite their kids for anything. I would say that my experience with Indians at Bullis, those kids never really amount to much because the Indian families who send their kids just think dropping them off and writing a check means that the school should parent, nurture, and develop their kid into ivy material. We personally know 3 Indian kids who went to Bullis and not a single one is financially independent. No joke, one of them still lives at home and works at Starbucks while his mom complains that she spent all this money on Bullis, but that didn’t do anything for him. Meanwhile, she never put the kid in summer camp or encouraged sports of any kind as she was too busy planning elaborate parties for the south Asian community. The Sidwell Indians are more involved and approach their kids education more like white people. My advice, look for lots of different types of diversity. I don’t want my kids associating with Indians who come from families that are obsessed with money, pure academics, and prestige. I don’t care if my son or daughter end up at Mason as long as they are happy and doing a job they love. Other Indians would be horrified (this includes my brother and mom)

Horrified about a kid ending up at Mason? Absolutely.
I know a number of folks with highly successful careers who went to Mason. It has several strong departments. Education is what you make of it.

+1. All these people who think the only path to success and more importantly happiness and life satisfaction, can only be found at an IVY are so very ridiculous. They are completely tone deaf to how they sound. If a kid goes to Mason, has a great experience, graduates with a degree they want and can do something with, goes on to either grad school and/or a good career why in the hell would it matter what the name of the school is on the diploma?? Elitist snobbish bullshit. And by the way, my kid goes to an area private.

10 year olds don’t row - I mean, I’ve put my 10 year old in my scull to let him try, but they simply aren’t big enough yet for the equipment. There are no crew programs for 10 year olds.
