Is European Formula Superior?

Anonymous
We ordered Lebenswert from an eBay seller and it was comparable to American formula price. I wanted to find the best formula for my son after I stopped exclusively pumping at 4 months. I was always into organic food before having a baby. We tried earths best too. Lebenswert tasted really good according to my husband. He would eat a scoop as he was preparing baby bottles. I did not choose Lebenswert because I wanted to feel superior. That's ridiculous. No one knew which formula we used. I did not carry around boxes of formula in my diaper bag.

My pediatrician encouraged HIPP or another good European formula. We used HIPP (https://myorganicformula.com/collections/hipp-organic-formula) from six months to 1.5!

We do also use Hipp. When our dd was about 8 months old we started using the good night formula by them too and it helped her sleep better. She liked a lot the buckwheat that is included. We also integrated it into foods. We also did get the advice from our paediatrician and a good friend already made great experiences with this formula too!

The question is are European food regulatory bodies affected by money and politics the way our FDA is? I think our agencies will overlook some health hazards in favor of say, the dairy industry or supplement manufacturers.

Doesn't matter if people are willing to buy possibly counterfit or poorly stored or expired "European" formula online.

Buy from a reputable distributor. Problem solved. And you have no way of knowing how American formulas are stored or shipped either.

This is hilariously HIPP isn’t considered a good formula brand in England. People who want to supposedly give their babies the Best Buy Aptamil.

If HIPP is still superior to American formula, why is it "hilarious"? That there is a formula better than HIPP still doesn't negate the fact that HIPP is still better than US formulas.

I think buying from a Safeway or CVS gives you MUCH better security about quality than buying online. It's impossible to tell what a "reputable distributor" is online.

European formula has too much aluminum.

What makes you say HIPP is better? I've searched online, but I can't find ANYTHING about regulations for HIPP manufacturing and storage. Conversely, the FDA regulates infant formula very closely. For example: https://www.fda.gov/Food/RecallsOutbreaksEmergencies/SafetyAlertsAdvisories/ucm522604.htm

Poorly stored? I can't even tell you how many boxes of Enfamil had curded up like cheese. We literally went from Target to Giant just to find good formula. Finally had the company ship them to us and sent them all back because of curd problem. Yikes!
EU government doesn't make money off of people's health problems the way private companies do here. Ofcourse they try to make sure companies don't sell crap. I think my twist is much better than yours.

+1. And posters seem to have a ridiculous belief that US formulas are shipped and stored properly! Has no one ever worked for a CVS or large grocery store chain?
