+ 1 If a great accessory with the dress would be a stripper pole, then parents need to step in before their wards step out! |
I'm not allowed to show cleavage or my butt crack or my midriff at work omg its sooooo discriminatory and slut shame-y
|
I know! How dare they tell you not to wear your bathing suit to work. The men in the office should just blindfold themselves so they don't look because it's not your fault wearing your bathing suit to work is distracting (even for the women who are wondering why you don't have enough sense to dress yourself appropriately for work). Sometimes, the distraction isn't sexual, but because it's out of line. |
+1 I had this conversation with my daughter, who insisted she could wear "whatever she wanted." I agreed that yes, she certainly *could* wear whatever she wanted, but it was up to her to show some maturity and decide what *should* or should NOT be worn. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Cue the outraged posters who insist they and their daughters can walk around nude if they please.

THIS. Female empowerment apparently sees no reason to keep it classy. |
Formal events and nice venues dictate what is appopriate apparel. Not the guests. If the girls and boys want to wear inappropriate dresses, then they ca simply skip the dance and party at home. |
+1000 It's simultaneously pathetic and amusing that this even has to be spelled out. |
These are no little girls. You have issues and I feel sorry for your daughter as she clearly has no parental guidance.
|
You are being intentionally obtuse. More likely than not, we all know when a dress is sleazy, inappropriate and out of bounds from what most kids their age are wearing. |
You're right! That would totally work.

You seem to enjoy arguing simply for the sake of arguing. Look, if you're so offended by school rules, you have the option of simply keeping your child home. How about homeschooling? You could make your own rules. But if you're sending your child elsewhere for school, be prepared to play by the rules. Side note: how do you feel about Middle Eastern men dictating what Middle Eastern women wear? Does that offend you too? |
You mean like this? You truly are a piece of work.

+1 So glad I don't know any "parents" like this. |
Completely agree, but you're wasting your time trying to have a rational discussion with PP. She's such a rebel!
