Anonymous wrote:Yup. My 2 year old (27 month) old son is potty trained but using public toilets with him is a PITA. I also have an infant son. My son pees on the tire pretty much everywhere we go. It's like maybe 3 ounces of pee. It hardly even makes a puddle.

So he's car-trained?

I would not judge another parent with theee small kids if I saw this. Who knows what is going on with them right now.

Hahaha, no. He doesn't ONLY pee on tires. He can use toilets, public and at home. But I always ask him if he has to pee before we get in the car and if he says yes, then I don't walk back into the store/mall/target/library. I just have him pee on the tire.

Holy crapp. WtF is wrong with you?

I really don't get what the big deal is. He's 2.

You're teaching him to relieve himself in the manner that dogs do. It's uncivilized, whatever your justification.

At least he's toilet trained and not walking around with poop in his diaper. How is THAT civilized?

Stop trying to deflect the fact that you're training your boy like a dog.

If I have 2 other small kids, then chances are that my son is at least 5. At that age I sent him into the bathroom by himself. I would pull close to the entrance and wait for him to come out.

When my oldest was three I had a 2 YO and a baby. I'd wear the baby and put one kid in the chair thing or stroller and take the 3 YO in.

Other times, he would pee behind a tree. It's life.

Grown men do it every round on the golf course.

Those grown men are gross. A gentleman would not pee outside and if he did, he is not a gentlemen.

I guess very few gentlemen play golf. This happens constantly.

I've done it too.

Not routinely.
Did my son do it when he was young? (one of 3 kids). Of course!!

Totally fine with it. Everyone here is so uptight. This is a small child for f--- sake. And he will learn. Why be so hard on other moms? We all must be so bored to really opine on this topic!!

This is what I don't get. Those that are okay with this, keep talking about how there are no other options, it's just pee, people are uptight, in other cultures it is not taboo, he was potty training, he wa just two, he would have an accident, etc.

How come those of us against it don't make those excuses? I have kids. Both were newly potty trained at one time. You take your kid to the bathroom whether he says he has to go or not early on. You have changes of clothes. you ask the child if he has to go frequently. The majority if us make it thru potty training without resorting to having our kids pee in public.

You guys making the justifications are ridiculous. The world doesn't revolve around you. Rules apply to you, too. You're no more special than any one else. Your kid has no more of a bathroom emergency than any other kid. Unless there is a sign posted allowing for public peeing, don't do it. You must be the same moms who bring your boys into the ladies' locker rooms at the rec centers even after they are above the allowable age because rules be damned for your specialness.

Thank you! I completely agree with this. In this case it sounds like it was a choice that was more convenient for the mom than for the child. I have boys - they do not pee in public. If we had an emergency in the woods, yes that's okay. A public parking lot, no. Kids need to learn there are appropriate places to use the bathroom and the only way to learn it is by teaching them.

Who among us hasn't had a little wee at the park one time or another! Glass houses, stones, etc.

No

Nope. Get the baby out of the car and have your child us the bathroom. He is a child, not a dog.

My DW drops trou and pees in the garden to avoid going inside and taking off her shoes.

Couldn't. Care. Less.

yes.

Are we talking about going on the asphalt or the dirt? I wouldn't let my dog or my child pee on the asphalt and make a pee puddle for someone to step in. That's inconsiderate. I don't care about the dirt.
We had an excellent portable potty I kept in the car for thee problems. It has a ziplock bag insert so you could just seal it up after. So handy for girls.

People who think this is ok are probably the same ones who lose their minds if a dog pees in your yard.
