| OP here I'm not the mom in question. Just something I observed. My initial action was one of scorn, but thought maybe I was being harsh and wanted to check if this is maybe the norm. |
| Definitely |
| God, no! |

I have 2 boys and keep these in the car

There is a gel that absorbs the liquid and masks the smell. Then I put into a freezer size ziploc and put in trash can. I don't let my 4 and 7 year old boys pee in sketchy bathrooms like in a public park if their dad isn't around to go in with them. These bags are so convenient. |
| This kind of explains why DC always smells like pee. |
| NO |
What kind of public park do you go to? Generally, you can see who goes in and out of the bathroom, and generally, they're empty. Your boys will be safe, out of your sight, for two minutes. They might play or get distracted, in which case, send the 7 year old and take the 4 year old into the women's room with you. |
| OMG! NO!!! People who do that are beyond disgusting! |
Good lord NO! What is wrong with you. You should have been arrested. |
| I have a boy... and extra empty plastic water bottles in the car for this reason. |
| I have before and I would again. |
| How old was the son that needed to pee? Ideally, if the library is that close and easily accessible, let him run in real fast and go himself while you all stay at the car. |
You'd rather have your kids pee in a bag then go into a public bathroom?????? What?!?!? Here are the steps if you are truly concerned. Step 1: Send kid into public bathroom and tell him if there is anyone in there without kids with them to come back out. Ask him to call out to you to confirm all looks good. Step 2: Stand outside door until kid is finished. For your 7 year old, you need to be teaching him how to handle any situations that might arise in a public restroom. This kid is probably using a shared restroom at school (likely with kids as old as 5th or 6th grade), so it's time. |

I have a 7 year old boy and I would tell him to hold it until we got home, which he's able to do.
I have a 4 year old daughter and for her I would bring us all back into the library. A 7 year old kid can hold it. |
