Go back to predicting that Hillary was going to win.

Yes, they should review this mission. I'm a military parent, and I'm sad for this father's loss. I wouldn't judge him grieving for his son or any of his reactions. I did think Hillary's use of a gold star family was manipulative during the election, but Trump was stupid to engage that controversy. I would welcome an investigation.

Mr Khan looked like he was all in, to borrow from Petraeus.....

Trump blamed the military for Ryan's death! That is beyond the pale. Utterly disgusting.

True. And yet Peyton Manning got a bigger raft of sh!t from the American public for blaming a loss on his offensive line than the President is getting for this.

That's a lie.
That's one of the things people don't understand about most liberals. Of course there's a bit of hypocrisy here that liberals have a problem with but hypocrisy is the cornerstone of conservative Republican philosophy. We care when people die. We care about things that happen to others even if they aren't happening to us. Our political goal is not simply to piss off the right. It is to advance and protect human rights which benefits all humans. We care when cops shoot people AND when people shoot cops (can you wrap your heads around that one?). We realize cops are people too. You might not believe it but we think America is great in many ways and are dismayed to put it mildly watching all those things that make this country great casually dismantled by obvious con-artists. Your fear has always been manufactured. Our fear is real.

NP. Is that why you were out protesting in the streets when Obama's drone bombs killed women and children? I'm sure you were up in arms when Obama bombed the Doctors Without Borders hospital in Afghanistan, right?

Time to climb down off your high horse.

I don't get it. This move was developed under the Obama administration. Trump signed off, but it was indeed developed prior to Trump taking office.

Maybe - had Obama been in office - the final sign off would not have occurred. But at this point, I can't see how American blood is only on Trump's hands. I feel for anyone who's lost a child to war. So I'm not fully supporting O or T. But what's fair is fair.

How Donald Trump's first military action went from the Obama White House to deadly raid

The buck never stops with Trump, huh?! I wondered how my posts I would have to go before I would hit the "thanks Obama" poster.

I posted that, and I voted for O twice. I fail to see how what I've pointed out is blaming Obama 100%. It took two to tango. Someone set the set; the other called action.

I at least can look at all sides and not hold O up as some god who saved America.

eye roll? really mature

DP here. And just no. There are certain types of decisions that are really only the responsibility of the person who decides to go forward with them, and a military operation of this nature is that. Maybe Obama would have said no, maybe he wouldn't have, or maybe he would have asked for a better plan first. But he would have had to own the decision regardless of the outcome. P45 was fully empowered to say no, or to say improve it, or whatever. He said yes, and then tried to shirk responsibility for his yes.

"With great power comes great responsibility." That line was used as a joke in "Twelfth Night", but it is true regardless. P45 is a coward who can't even accept responsibility for sending another person's son to die. He's unwilling to risk admitting he made a mistake let alone risk his life. I thought nothing he could do would further disgust me, but the way he's crapped on the memory of this soldier is revolting.

His recognizing Owen's widow last night was very cringey. Whether she felt his way or not, I felt like she did not want to be called out.

As to who is to "blame" -- if the order was approved by President Obama, wasn't that, you know, almost 2 months ago? Shouldn't there have been a new assessment before it was signed off on?

Sincere question.

Agreed. Trump has had no compunction of reversing many of Obama's orders. Why should this be any different?

Yes, CiC, the buck does stop with you, and I can't believe the military community has remained silent on this. It's really disgusting how far some will go to defend Trump's inability to be a true leader. The man's conflict of interest, huge ego, inability to get over that he lost a popularity contest, and now this... shows his lack of leadership skills.

She would not have been in attendance if she did not want her husband, and herself, recognized.
I am certain she was told in advance that she would be recognized.
I, and millions of others, found it touching and humbling.

Look, the military community is just another "special interest" group that are very protective of their budget and turf. As someone who has close family members - enlisted, officer class, and special forces - I've seen what motivates some of them. The enlisted want bigger budgets, more spending, more benefits and they associate that with Republicans in office (rightly or wrongly). In fact, my family in special forces are actually the most critical of military waste and the recklessness of the GOP. While they receive quite large bonuses and benefits, they are also in the most dangerous positions. Officers and special forces have more nuanced views of the Administrations, IMHO. Enlisted tend to be more unwavering, in the hopes that they get a pay day.

So, it's all about the money? Lives and integrity don't matter, I guess, when you could potentially get a huge bonus.

MSM focuses on dad; Trump focused on widow.

Now we know why.

Dan Grilo, a former Hillary Clinton staffer tonight bashed the wife of fallen Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens. Owens was killed on January 29th during a counterterrorism military operation in Yemen.

After receiving an thunderous ovation tonight on Capitol Hill, Owens’ widow Carryn, for her husband’s bravery and service, Grillo ripped into her on Twitter, calling her an idiot.

Within minutes of his tweet, backlash ensued. Minutes later, Grilo made his Twitter account private, hiding from the internet, then locked his account.

What an utter jerk.

Nice folks you Dems are.

And Rs are so wonderful? Your leader takes the cake with the tweet about the fallen gold star serviceman family. Grilo is a private citizen. Trump was a presidential nominee. Big difference, moron.

You are a peach, yourself. Trump didn't call a gold star family "idiots."

No, he just made fun of the wife "just standing there". Also, I'm not the POTUS, so who cares whether I'm a peach or not.
