Are they doing this move thing just to have a storyline?

At first, Kody was talking about how much he missed Utah and wanted to move back to Utah....So, why are they now looking at moving to Flagstaff, Arizona?

Also, part of the reason to move was to capitalize on the Vegas real estate market by selling their Vegas homes now...but now they are contemplating moving to smaller homes that cost more money, without knowing much about Flagstaff. Doesn't seem to make financial sense. -- is it just to create a new storylune?

Vegas real estate was the first to crash and burn in the 2008 crash and never really recovered. I suspect that's how he got 3 or 4 homes at once. With them dipping even more, he's probably underwater. Its either get out now and move to Flagstaff or stay and be unable to sell or be foreclosed on.

With 4 houses, 4 wives, and 18 kids? Not a chance.

T.L.C. isn't exactly stingy but they don't pay top network rates either. $30,000 an episode (for the entire family) with a 20 episode season is a yearly income of roughly $600,000. There are also network rules that the kids who appear in these shows must be compensated out of the salary separately so all of that $30K isn't even for the 5 adults.

Also keep in mind that none of their 'regular' jobs seem to be anything but MLM or contracter positions. Kody does ad sales? Robyn sells jewelry. Christine does real estate. Meri has the BnB and some MLM project.

That's all well-and-good but their medical insurance rates for 23 people must be astronomical. Remember in 2015 when Robyn's son almost died? His hospital bills ended up in a lien on her house.

If they were flush (and they've been doing the show since 2010) that never would have happened.

+1 Love Jenelle. I wish she would escape this crazy family and ridiculous lifestyle. She deserves so much more.

I’m thinking they don’t even have insurance...It is a common practice of polygamists to have the wives file for welfare/Medicaid benefits and claim to be a single unmarried mothers.

Interesting point above about collecting from the state. I bet you are right. I also cannot fathom how much they are paying for medical insurance with all of those children. Imagine how much they are selling out of pocket for braces alone? Ugh. I think the estimate that they're making about a half million dollars a year is probably accurate just off the show alone. But that is not that much money with that many people in your household.

This is also a snarky thing to say, but their daughters Mykelti and Aspen are marrying or have married guys that look like thumbs.

I like Jenelle, too, and Christine. I find them all likeable except maybe Robyn, who seems so serious and sometimes whiney. Christine seems fun, funny/silly, and positive.
