Yes. You can't kiss or have sex without being married, so they have short engagements.

Jill: "Jill also discussed her views on relationships. She and Derick had a three-month engagement and were married only seven months after the start of their courtship, but they said their short timeline was intentional.

“Once we knew we wanted to get married, we didn’t want to put off the wedding for a long time and provide a stumbling block for ourselves," Jill told Page Six. "We purposed to save ourselves physically for each other within marriage (even our first kiss for our wedding day!), so we had a short engagement period. We knew that we weren’t going to prevent having children, so when we found out we were expecting within our first month of marriage, we were thrilled!”

Jill added that a short engagement makes it easier for couples to stay pure. "You may not wanna push the wedding date out too far as those natural God-given desires with too much time between engagement and marriage can make it harder to remain pure," Jill told Page Six.

"If you are financially ready, and things are in place (which should be at the time the question is popped), we believe an engagement should only be long enough to plan a wedding!”"

I cannot stand how they use "purpose" as a verb.

I agree! I've never heard anyone but Duggars use it!

And Kate Gosselin.

And there is already a perfectly fine word they could use - "We intend to ..." But I guess that's what happens when you don't go to school.

I came to this forum solely to say that I just watched the first episode of this season and am seriously thinking this new guy (Jeremy the soccer player) can't be for real.

When he talks to Jinger he looks and sounds SO fake! She appears to be in the clouds which is great for her but kind of sad because I think either 1) he'll leave her once he's taken advantage of her or 2) he'll become abusive....sorry but he creeps me out. I've always had high hopes for Jinger (and Jana too) and even higher hopes when I heard of this new soccer player but then I saw him and learned of his new pastor roll. I'm predicting he turns out to be even more conservative and oppressive than the Duggars (hidden behind his hip clothes and tattoo). He gives me the creeps.

No one without narcissistic parents is named something like "Jinger." At least the self-obsessed Kardashian mom was able to find K names that worked phoenetically.

Good for her. Her older sister has a good eye.

She got married:

Another Duggar is off the market: Jinger Duggar wed soccer player Jeremy Vuolo Saturday.

The reality TV show family announced the news on their website with a special video, featuring parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.

"We are so excited for Jinger and Jeremy. They just got married and they are such a sweet couple," Jim Bob Duggar says in the video, standing beside Michelle.

The proud father then boasted about his daughter and her new husband.

what happened to Josiah? I felt like he was courting someone (when he was only 18), then poof, no more.

I thought he was 17 at the time. The family announced that they had "mutually decided" to end the courtship after a little while. Some suspect it was all a ruse to prove he's not gay.

NP here - I started a thread on this couple having recently wed:

-- and that thread was locked and referred here.

I was just wondering if others have followed the couple, watched the wedding, etc., and any more thoughts.
