Baby switched at birth at Sibley

Editor may have encouraged use of "swtiched at birth." Lots of WaPo stories as well as other news stories around the web are played up for more clicks. They know it works. Loads of more clicks is worth it to the newspaper business and some publications and news services actually determine a reporter's value based on views.

And you are one of "those parents" who clearly doesn't think that professionals should be held accountable for the one job they have. What is this other mother had TB or some other contagious disease? How many times did someone you know hand your newborn baby to a complete stranger to be fed. I remember being a first time mom and I didn't even want my MIL to hold the baby. Sibley should update their antiquated procedures and this is one way to bring attention to it.

Where did you see that? She had every right to find out what exactly happened to her child while this stranger had her. Are you insane???

OP - please disregard the bitches here. I would have been mortified if someone gave my child to a stranger no matter how short the "visit" was. It is absolutely okay that you spoke to this woman since the hospital was not giving you the whole story. I am sorry that this happened to you. They should definitely have better security measures and maybe now they will.

Oh give me a fucking break. No, you don't ever have the right to track down and harass another patient. Not even to confirm your precious snowflake was fed formula, horrifying as that is to contemplate.

The fact that you keep calling this child her special snowflake is ridiculous. I won't what you would have done if this happened to you? Did you hand your newborn over to strangers on the metro? Did they feed your special snoflake?

Didn't think so.

I wouldn't have played detective to track down and harass an innocent party, that's for damn sure.

Where does it say she harassed her? I get that you think it's no big deal, but simply talking to someone is a far cry from harassing them.

Tracking her down by invading her privacy is harassing her. Sounds like the other mom handled it with grace, though.

You need to read up on what actual harassment is. By your definition any time I looked up a plumber on the internet and called him for a job, I harassed him.

I'm not pp seriously? He looked at private hospital records, other patients' paperwork, etc. I agree the hospital messed up, but OP
and husband are the epitome of entitled. I couldn't enjoy being a new mom! My precious baby had a sip of formula!

Stop making shit up and read what she actually wrote they did.

How many times have you posted? There is clearly one crazy defender on here. Karin is that you?

She wrote "launch the investigation." I think we all know he didn't just glance at a piece of paper fortuitously.

How many times have you posted?

Clearly there is at least one crazy Sibley administrator here. Don't you have a job to do?

If the hospital was following HIPPA protocols, "glancing over" room assignments would not have been possible. Clearly they leave shit lying around. Nice try though.

I meant to say "mark" but this is funnier anyway.

I am for sure going to make "fuck my words" part of my daily lexicon, PP!

I've have the perfect usage. "If you're not home in time to give this little demon a bath fuck my words there will be hell to pay!"

Agreed. Hospitals make you fill out tons of paperwork and treat you like a child when you're a patient but don't hold themselves to the same standards. I remember standing in the admissions room with my water broken and dripping down my legs but still having to fill out the same paperwork I filled out several times over and over again for previous visits. They had all of my info on file but made me fill it out AGAIN.
If only they were all such sticklers when it comes to other things.

It's in the WaPo title as well. They'd say the zombie apocalypse has just begun all in the name of clicks.

I don't question that OP should be upset by what happened, but 'switched at birth' is a phrase that means something much more significant than what OP went through. It's overly dramatic for this situation.

OP you are just such a selfish person. Send that woman some flowers and note of apology.

Then I suggest you offer a random stranger a sip of your water on the Metro. And drink out of it immediately after they take a sip.

I'm confused, did the babies share a bottle? I don't understand your point. (Not the poster you are quoting).

Craig, get a hold of yourself. It's very unlikely from one round of breastfeeding would have transmitted anything to your kid, including HIV. But that didn't actually happen. You and your wife are very self-centered people.

So you went around room to room asking all the new moms if they had been given the wrong baby by mistake? Please send notes of apologies to all the new moms you harassed.

+1

HAHA, you know PP doesn't ride the metro, though. Then she'd be surrounded by commoners...ick!

Love it. Can't wait to use it on DH tonight re: toddler bath time.
