Baby switched at birth at Sibley

Yes the bands do have names and numbers and the nurses check and make you check when they bring the baby back
OP is a nutjob.

That being said, this is partly why I chose to deliver in a hospital with no nursery. I don't think you can send your child to a nursery and be totally shocked when this happens.

Do any of you understand humor? Of course she didn't think the other woman had Ebola, but she could have easily had many other diseases. Sick women give birth ALL THE TIME.

This is a big deal. The fact that so many of you don't think so, or pretend that you don't think so in typical DCUM shit, is troublesome.

Can we all just agree that Sibley is a crappy hospital. We delivered there, and I've never felt so disrespected. God forbid you're anything but white.

This thread isn't what you expected, huh op?

Of course it's a big deal, but like the child who incorrectly had the tongue tie clipped, it's only a big deal because procedures weren't followed, not because anything bad actually happened.

I am the prior GW poster. Now that I recall, GW definitely has names on the baby band at least.

Yes, I would wonder why Sibley wouldn't do that.

I seem to remember them checking name, number and gender every time at Sibley. Those days are a little hazy, I might not be remembering correctly. I do clearly remember obsessively checking the birthmark on my baby's arm to confirm to myself that he was mine, though.

+1. I had a bad experience and I am white.

I had a terrible experience there as well and am white. Led me to a home birth for my next child. So much better.

Where did you see that? She had every right to find out what exactly happened to her child while this stranger had her. Are you insane???

OP - please disregard the bitches here. I would have been mortified if someone gave my child to a stranger no matter how short the "visit" was. It is absolutely okay that you spoke to this woman since the hospital was not giving you the whole story. I am sorry that this happened to you. They should definitely have better security measures and maybe now they will.

Oh give me a fucking break. No, you don't ever have the right to track down and harass another patient. Not even to confirm your precious snowflake was fed formula, horrifying as that is to contemplate.

I don't think you know what mortified means.

I agree. But it could have happened. And it's so preventable.

I just delivered at sibley and they did check names, no idea why that didn't happen for OP.

I also had a bad experience. Also white. I switched hospitals for the next kid.
