Then watch a more recent video featuring Dr Carlo here. He is responding to the question about the safety of wi-fi in schools here at George Washington University.

"Currently presiding over the FCC is Tom Wheeler, a man who has led the two most powerful industry lobbying groups: CTIA and NCTA. It is Wheeler who once supervised a $25 million industry-funded research effort on wireless health effects. But when handpicked research leader George Carlo concluded that wireless radiation did raise the risk of brain tumors, Wheeler‘s CTIA allegedly rushed to muffle the message. ”You do the science. I‘ll take care of the politics,” Carlo recalls Wheeler saying."

| She can't stop herself, can she? |
| Can we lock this thread if it's the same person that keeps trying to keep it alive with all the copy pasting from online? Or is it multiple people? |
MCCPTA controlled list. Ask them. |
|
When people speak .. - your answer is to "lock this thread" why?
Why? Is this a democratic county? Are people on this list not wanting to hear voices? Is there a fear? of this information.. What is the concern? |
Personal attacks rather than responses tp the information? The topic is on radiation and health. Please stick to the topic at hand. |
One more thing
Stopping people from speaking makes no sense. Why not just listen, respond with an intelligent thought and let other readers come to their own conclusion. We all can have an informed opinion when all information is presented, even information that seems way off. To stifle information.. ? .. why? Let it speak for itself. If you have a problem with it then let others see it, let them be the judge. Maybe others will think it is totally off base- great- that is their opinion and they have aright to form it. To suppress information is to take away others ability to decide for themselves. This is not cool. That is what dictators do. |
| This is a very interesting discussion. I am also concerned about Chromebooks and many other parents feel the same way. I know at least 5 parents that contacted the principal with concerns. they want to know what is being done to minimize risks. |
| I am worried for this very reason. Children already spend time with laptops, tv, phones outside of school, so it would be nice for the kids to have a break at school. Studies have been showing that kids kids may learn more without a computer, with more emphasis on interaction with the teacher and other students, and by doing more handwriting. The AAP recommends a max of 2 hours of screen time a day for children. btw the AAP has also urged the FCC to look at the guidelines on wireless radiation which are now 20 years old and revise them so that children can live long and healthy lives. It is an unfortunate fact, but wireless radiation (microwave, non-ionizing, WiFi) damages cells and DNA. I think parents need to be fully informed of what the possible health risks are in school for a wireless environment. With all the kids on chromebooks which are giving of wireless radiation, the affects are magnified, so the radiation a child is exposed to at school is much stronger than at home. Plus the routers are high density commercial grade, these routers are not for home use. |
Wait for it... wait for it...
And there it is! The conspiracy theory, the afraid of information accusation, the not wanting to hear voices. Wait, not wanting to hear voices? Okaaay... so the spambot thinks its strange that we don't want to hear voices, I guess like she does?

Los Angeles School District, a district of over 650,000, decided they needed their own standards - 10.000 times lower than what the FCC allows. They defended their actions after reviewing the science - some showing evidence of harm, some showing no evidence of harm - and at the end of the day decided that there is enough research to warrant these precautions.
I'm done posting - I'm sure you will make fun of my post and try to ridicule me as many did in the other posts. It is sad, a woman is pointing out, just as the AAP has, that we need to put the health and safety of kids first and make sure we are doing right by our kids and she is verbally attacked.... |
The AAP has recently changed their recommendations about screen time to keep up with digital innovation. Perhaps you should, too. http://www.aappublications.org/content/36/10/54.full |

More recent than the September 2015 link to the AAP article which, by the way isn't their official position—even in their article they say their revised position will be determined later in 2016—is this AAP person interviewed for The Today Show on November 5, 2015 (so just recently): Dr. Gisela Mercado-Deane, American Academy of Pediatrics Chair of Radiology. She starts speaking at approximately 2:10 into the 4-minute official clip: http://www.today.com/video/pediatricians-warn-limit-childrens-exposure-to-cellphones-559871555807
