Renee Zellweger looks completely different :(

I loved the look she had before - the eyes that slanted upwards and the gorgeous jawline. Now her eyes no longer tilt up (why her surgeon changed that I'll never know - the rest of us are always trying to create that effect with eyeliner!). Her eyebrows are straight, heavy, and low instead of arched and higher, and they're much closer to her eyes than before - which actually ages her.

Rats. I hate when a distinctively beautiful look gets turned into this generic, shiny, mask-y look. My cousin also has this face now, and she was stunning and unique-looking before.

I guess these surgeons all learn the same single technique and apply it to everyone, without regard to their unique facial structure or to preserving what makes them special. I feel bad for her that this is what she ended up with and that everyone with eyes is like WTF? Maybe with time the tight skin will relax a bit and she'll get a bit of her old look back. (A la Sharon Stone and Christie Brinkley after their facelifts.)

Did anyone see the photos today? She looks a lot more like "normal". I think it was the makeup....

No big loss. She's a very average actress, not a superstar.

Why is this news?

Very average? She has been nominated for the Best Actress Oscar three times and won once. She has also won three Golden Globes, two for Best Actress. I realize winning an Oscar doesn't automatically mean one is a good actress (cough, Julia Roberts, cough), but surely being nominated for so many awards must count for something, no?

Sorry, I disagree with you although I am not the PP. She's an average actress at best. Was always very average looking, albeit cute and girl-next-door-ish. Those awards shows are very political, meaning the studio and her agent lobbied hard to get her a nomination/win. When I say lobbied hard, I really mean invested a lot of money in her and/or the movie. It has nothing to do with talent. At all.

+2. I think she is, frankly, not even really average. Those awards shows are so politicized (in Hollywood) they mean very little. As for her looks, I've never thought she was attractive. Maybe cute'ish. But, I don't understand why people are obsessing over this story.

And with that, I've just talked/thought more about Rene Z. than I have in the entirety of my life till now.
