So who was the woman here who said it's WOMEN, not men, who age like fine wine? If that was the case, doubt that women like Renee would do this to themselves. |

If she's dating Sheryl Crow's ex, perhaps she's also partaking in some Mary Jane, which might explain the new eyes

It's amazing how important the eyes are to a person's recognizability! She totally looks anonymous now!
It makes me wonder if people thought I looked completely different after my blepharoplasty two years ago (and were too polite to say so). Even if so, I'm glad I did it, because my hooded eyes really bothered me when I looked in the mirror. Perhaps her hooded eyes, that looked so cute when she was younger became heavy and saggy esp. in the mornings and gave a constant false appearance of weariness. That's why I did it. |

She was never gorgeous to begin with...she's always been cute, but not beautiful. Her squinty eye thing made her cute...but now it's gone, and she's very ordinary now.
No big loss. She's a very average actress, not a superstar. Why is this news? |
| I think she looks attractive but not at all like her lovely, distinctive original self. Sucks that she felt like she had to this to get roles again. I loved, loved, loved the squinchy look she had before. It made her her. |
Very average? She has been nominated for the Best Actress Oscar three times and won once. She has also won three Golden Globes, two for Best Actress. I realize winning an Oscar doesn't automatically mean one is a good actress (cough, Julia Roberts, cough), but surely being nominated for so many awards must count for something, no? |
I think her face shape has changed which is very hard to do... Weird. |
I was thinking the opposite. I thought Mary Jane made eyes all squint y. Maybe now she's off the MJ and thus has open eyes... I have no idea but my husband has "hooded" eyes...wonder if he's going to want a lift later... |
Is she too thin? - that can change the shape of your face as you get older. |
Sorry, I disagree with you although I am not the PP. She's an average actress at best. Was always very average looking, albeit cute and girl-next-door-ish. Those awards shows are very political, meaning the studio and her agent lobbied hard to get her a nomination/win. When I say lobbied hard, I really mean invested a lot of money in her and/or the movie. It has nothing to do with talent. At all. |
LOL Julia Roberts has more Oscar/Golden Globe nominations than Renee |
Agree with all that. It is political, but she had to sing and dance in Chicago, held her own, and the movie went on to garner critical acclaim and the Oscar. Plus, the characters she plays are very different. She isn't cranking out romantic comedy after romantic comedy. For me, that counts for more than "very average" as an actress. |
| The thing that jumps out at me most, even more than the eyes in most photos, is the different overall face shape. It looks like a chin implant plus something that smoothed out the angles in her jawline. That plus the eyelids and eyebrows (lighter, straighter, maybe sparser) make her unrecognizable. Attributing the change to better health is bs. |

You suggest Julia Roberts had 1 fluke nomination/win. Perhaps you should express your thoughts more clearly. |
