This 1000%.

Meh. Certain parts are pretty classy

Totally agree with the Columbia Hospital for women comment.

-3rd generation native Washingtonian (transplanted to VA) who is NOT preppy, but knows ALL of these people. And was born at CHW (now condos) like all the preppies from the '70s.

Move back to DC after marriage, live in GP then Wesley Heights with kids rinse and repeat...

If you're of a certain age, your birth certificate should say Columbia Hospital for Women, not Sibley. And there should be at least one Garfinckel's box or bag kicking around somewhere in your attic.

This is literally me. Every single thing on the first list, except I was in London for closer to two years. And I didn’t play lacrosse, from another comment.

My siblings and I were born at Colombia Hospital for Women, along with most of my DC native friends.

Would a Garfinckel's hat box do? What if said box contains a hat with a Julius Garfinckel label?

Also, you would need to have a fur coat from Saks Jandel. A full length one. And, a Washington Charge Plate.

You can’t buy furs anymore. You have to inherit them. At least that was what I was taught as a teen in the early 2000’s.

Opinion is completely void when they can’t even spell Rehoboth.

Minor quibble, but it was the Washington Shopping Plate.

That is not what this lame thread is about.

Need a new thread about how to bleed your African country dry. Nothing there to brag about.

This Baltimore prep is amused

And yes, you can't buy fur any more. You must inherit one. Your grandmother's gorgeous full length mink. And never wear it except to Christmas Eve services.

Love this. So I am many things on the list. But Sibley. And furs were from Rosendorf Evans. My kids were born in Sibley too!

Maine
No. At an NGO in NYC and an "art gallery" (tax writeoff) in London

A proper female prep will work in any of the following fields:
Auction House (esp. Sotheby's)
Gallery
Pre-School Teacher
At a magazine, ideally Martha Stewart
As an interior decorator

IF not too smart. Smart prep women are lawyers and financiers - just like the men.
