Preppy old money in DC is originally from the north - New England, NYC, and the Main Line. At least all the people I personally know. They have family summer homes in Maine, the Cape/ACK/MV, Block or Fishers Island.

It's a bit odd, TBH. Lots of the new younger preppy crowd in the Capitol region are wealthy kids from the South who were drawn up here during GWB and Trump administrations + WOT. But they are not the old money DC crowd that have had roots in the city for a few generations.
