Silver Spring's Eastern Middle School gets slammed for rewarding good students

My kid's middle school has dances. They have nothing to do with grades or achievement. They are just for fun. It has nothing to do with "everyone gets a trophy" or being PC because it's not about any kind of competition. It's just for fun.

"Everyone gets a trophy" mentality applies to situations where there is competition and the people running it make sure everyone gets some kind of reward. This is the first time I'm hearing about a school-wide party with levels of inclusion based on grades.
