| Not tacky, sadly against the rules in our HOA neighborhood. |
It might make your house a target for corn thieves.
|
| It's fine, just put it between the "backyard chicken" coop and the "urban bee keeper" hives. |
And throw in some geese to protect the corn. |
Don't forget the squash and beans. |
|
Not tacky - I'd grow corn if the front yard received enough afternoon sun. We have a side yard that does, but it's small so I focus on other plants.
Neighbors' front yards have berries (earlier this season), melons, tomatoes, corn, herbs, and I'm sure other things. Google "edible landscaping". |
| Growing corn at home sound great to me! |
| No issue with it. If we had a larger front yard, I'd put a few veggie beds there. Our neighbors grow veggies in their front yard - they share with their neighbor. I wish I had the space. That is where they get the most sunlight. Our garden is in the back yard. Corn does grow! |
| Who grows corn in their front yard? How backwards and country like. |
Me! Or, anyway, next year I will. If growing corn in your front yard makes you backward, does growing corn in your back yard make you forward? |
If anything, I would think the higher income types would NOT want the corn being grown on the front lawns of their neighborhood. Yikes! Talk about "bringing down the neighborhood"! etc..... I am 40 and have a graduate degree from the London School of Economics, and I am one of the ones repeatedly saying "no" to front yard corn in this thread. |
No, it just makes you normal. |
But don't forget to pick up your goose poop. |
| OP, if I park my cars on the lawn, would that bother you? |
yes |
