Mother of slain children - pregnant

In my marriage, which I don't think is that unique, Dh and I have sought comfort in each other in the form of physical contact and intimacy (aka sex) during times of grief and stress. It can be healing and bring you closer. Perhaps not everyone feels this way, but who is anyone to judge what goes on in another marriage?

Exactly! Sex isn't always a kinky, fun fest. And many, many people don't think about contraceptives or making babies. We had a tragedy in our family (not the death of a child), and my husband and I were very close and intimate in the months after. When you truly love someone, often times comfort and compassion leads to sex. Not every tragedy divides and separates spouses. Turning to each other can be one of the most healing things. I am with a PP, in the belief that their love for each other, ultimately led to a child; without an ulterior motives.

Bingo. I think that is the key difference between those women who can't imagine sex after a tragedy and those who find it normal. It is obvious that those who would prefer to wallow in their grief alone are void of true intimacy and love from/for their partner. That is why Krim's pregnancy is unimaginable to them.

Are you a parent?
If I lost 2 children, I would want to have another child. I don't think it's odd.

Yes, I am a parent. I could not imagine explaining to the child conceived out of tragedy that the only reason s/he exists is due to the deaths of other children. IMO it doesn't honor the memory of the dead. It's a bandaid for incredible pain and puts a child in a position, to be seen as 'replacement.'

Only reason?

As if you know this is the only reason.

I just can't believe she was into getting randy within just a couple of months after the brutal murders of her children.

She must be divorced from her feelings or avoiding them.

Also, I don't blame her at all for leaving her kids with a nanny. I am disgusted by people who blame her for that. However I would think she would maybe blame herself as most people in her situation do. I would think that alone would make her not want to have so much sex.

Couple months?

I'm super jealous of her fertility!

So if my husband was brutally murdered by a nanny it would be ok for me to get remarried within a year?

I would love to know what those so critical of the Krinn's would want them to do in light of their children's murders. How should they act, behave, conduct their lives that would conform to the principles these PPs hold dear?

Okay, so no sex is one of them. And definitely don't have any other children. What else? Hide in a cave? Only water and stale bread and one meal a day? Wearing a hair shirt?

Please enlighten me as to what would make these people more acceptable in light of the tragedy they endured. How *should* they act?

Do the math, they were murdered end of Oct.
She is due in the fall, which could be Sept and which would mean 2 months after. Oct would be about 3 months after. You ge the idea. Hey announced it mid May, but I bet she was 3-4 months when they announced it. I am sure they waited until things were "safe" to announce.

Actually they also announced she's having a boy. That is a minimum of 4 months, more likely at least 5 months, so yeah.

If I lost a child in a tragedy like that, I don't think I could ever attempt to "replace" him/her.

That's what they're doing.

never a fan of hers to begin with, however

+1. Unbelievable that people feel inclined to judge this woman. Let it go. Leave her alone.

That cant be healthy. They should first deal with their emotions/ grief.

We are all messed up one way or another. If only "emotionally" healthy people are allowed to have kids, the human race should have been extincted or all nazi by now.
