McDonalds, Wendy's or Taco Bell? What works best for your family?

Anonymous
None of those.

We always have on hand:
1. PBJ
2. Sliced meat (from Whole Foods, sliced from roasted turkey breast)
3. Frozen cooked ground meat (great for last minute tacos)
4. Pasta

If I end up running out or picking something up on my way home it's normally a rotisserie chicken from Whole Foods with one of their sides (also a few cookies). Organic, healthy, and quick.

We're not anti fast food, but I'm sure she'll want it in the future regardless, so if I can give her better options now, that's what we'll do!

Our "fast food" is either Chipotle or Panera (normally when we're traveling and not near home).

!

Now, THAT is funny.

I think people do really believe this. Heck, I can get E. coli from a bag if fresh spinach! It's safer to eat a preservative-laden burger from McDonalds.

I think I love you.

The sanctimommies on this thread are hilarious!

Yeah...I would rather be laughed at than feeding my family crap. Especially after one of my close relatives got horrible health issues after eating fast food 2-4 times a week. A relative is now on a very strict and bland diet, and pays huge money to doctors to treat him and etc.

Ever heard of "moderation"?

Not the PP, and I'm all for moderation, but we pass on McDonalds, even 'in moderation'. My kids eat other 'junk' food 'in moderation'. But, I think of McDonalds the same way that I think of smoking. There is absolutely no reason to smoke, even in moderation. Years from now, I think people will feel the same about those pink slime, artificial, carcinogenic hamburgers from McDonalds.

For the record, I did not grow up eating McDonalds, and I never went through a phase of eating tons of fast food. It just doesn't taste good to me. So, maybe my kids will be McDonalds junkies when they become teenagers, but, maybe not.

In any case, with a part-time job, numerous social commitments, plus going to the gym to keep trim etc. I simply don't have time to "cook" what you would call "real food" from scratch.

Yes, my kids may be a little on the chunky side, but it is all paid for, and I have nothing to be ashamed of. Moreover, when the time comes they will be ready to fight and die for this country, unlike all the vegatarians, who are probably lining up to burn the flag.
Shame on you!

lol; glad someone has humor on this thread.

Go ahead and laugh and flap your sweaty back fat.

All of those are pretty equal (equally bad) as far as nutrition goes.

I'll take the kids to eat fast food occasionally. But we keep plenty of options at home for nights I don't feel like cooking. ie: breakfast for dinner, sandwiches, bagel pizzas. Last friday night we had chicken tenders (Bell and Evans, 30 minutes in the oven) with yogurt, salad, and fruit.

We usually do scrambled eggs with cheese or a rotisserie chicken if we are pressed for time.

Try any of those if you want your kids to be morbidly obese. McDonald's doesn't even use what I consider to be real meat! Wendy's is a little better but still high in sodium etc. And taco bell? You're joking right? Disgusting. I agree with the PP maybe Subway or even Panera. Also, I agree with the rotisserie chickens. You don't even have to cook! just snag one of those then sautee some frozen veggies and done.

Try one and your kids will be morbidly obese? Huh?

Buy some sliced turkey breast at the deli. Put it on whole wheat/whole white wheat bread. Buy some peeled baby carrots and put that on the side. Give the kids a glass of milk.

If you can't even make a sandwich, rotiseree (sp?) chicken and grapes or carrots work just fine. My grocery store also has a variety of premade, precooked meat loafs, chicken breasts, sushi, and pork chops that can just be microwaved.
