Not a fan. The two different types of wood are too different. The wall cabinets look unfinished.

Here is winner for timless IMO (black granite usually holds up in style tastes over time)

that kitchen is not "timeless". The shiny black granite and dark wood cabinets are about 5 years behind the trend.

Totally agrees especially re the granite. The layout will probably last the test of time though.

And I feel like the cherry finish is dated.

I hate to say it but I really think there's no such thing.

I agree. I do think it's possible to design a kitchen that is function enough that buyer will be happy working there and aesthetically neutral enough that it won't be a dealbreaker for most buyers, but no one loves everything, and when people say "timeless" they usually mean "the stuff that's been in vogue for the past 5-10 years."

With that caveat, I'd suggest full overlay Shaker-style cabinets in a medium wood finish, simple handles (no bin pulls), plain granite and an undermount stainless sink, and a white tile backsplash with maybe one band of something interesting. It's not a big deal to redo a backsplash (or redo the band), and you could put in new countertops at sale time if you guessed wrong on how neutral it was. But the result is going to be a pretty bland kitchen. Useful, but dull.

No, dated. Sorry. And yes, oak is dated as well.

The kitchen is huge and might be 15 feet from the island work area to the fridge. Should have at least 3 stools.

Flexible, simple, clean, sunny... timeless? Maybe that mural on the wall would have to go, but that costs only a can of paint. Looks affordable without being 'cheap'.

love this one, it will appeal to 99% of all buyers as good or great meaning no worries of having to redo anything.
