Yuck - Co-worker Washed Breast Pump in Office Kitchen Sink

Anonymous
Those telling OP to *Gasp* get over the 'drama' and grow up. Asking if OP drinks milk from a dirty cow??? Are you serious???
I am a breast feeding mother. As a breast feeding mother I do not rinse my 'bodily fluid apparatus' in the KITCHEN. It is MY choice to breast feed and I should not infringe MY choice onto my coworkers to automatically be empathetic to the fact that I just had a baby. It would be like someone pissing in the sink and them saying, well deal with it.. I just had a baby. It's a warm, sweaty, bodily fluid being rinsed out in a sink where ALL coworkers have to use. Does anyone use lysol in the sink after rinsing their pump, or breast milk bottles?
Have consideration for others. OP is not incorrect in having an Opinion, Nor for saying a dirty sweaty breast. Does every busy mother with an infant shower every single morning? If you do than that is wonderful.
Empathy please.

If the employer does not provide a special sink for nursing mothers, then it is totally appropriate to wash out the pump parts in the kitchen sink.

If she washed her bloody diva cup in the kitchen sink I might be upset but pump parts?

Wash out the sink with soap.

Then wash your dishes.

Get over it.

ARE YOU OKAY WITH THAT???? You are crazy if you are. I support mothers who breastfeed and recognize all of the federal laws in place for providing them a place to pump. I'm only talking about WASHING the pump. Maybe I'll bring my dirty underwear and bras to work tomorrow and wash them in the kitchen sink since its cool and all.

omg, OP you clearly have a strong sexual fascination with this mom, and you hate yourself for it.

Ok, OP we still think you're dumb though.

op, do you cook? Do you cook meat? IMO, handling raw meat in a kitchen (or in a sink) is pretty gross. I don't find washing breast pump pieces in the sink any grosser than washing any other dishes. But I do think that the person in question would probably rather do it in private. (But doing it in a bathroom feels grosser. Do you want her to have the thing she uses to feed her newborn sitting on the counter in the bathroom? Where, incidentally, it is also usually way more inconvenient to wash things.)

I'm a bit bemused here. I looked at this thread because I figured the original post deserved a few responses saying (as most have) "What's the problem?", so I wondered what could fill 7 pages. Then I noted that the first 6 pages all occurred within about a day, A YEAR AGO. Then today, it got resurrected -- what am I missing?

OP was bored and decided to resurrect her old post.

I want to know if OP really washed her underwear in the office sink the day after the original post.

OP searched "breast pump in sink" and decided to bump the year-old thread. There are no words.

It is a bodily fluid and it should not.come in touch with my food, etc. Seperate sink and refrigerator. I don't want your bodily fluids on me any more than you want mine on you.
