| It's milk, OP. Plenty of people wash out coffee mugs that had cow milk in it, no big deal. It might help if you just changed your perspective. |
| This is OP here. I did not quite expect this response. My point is that it is a fluid that is coming out of someone's body, someone that I do not know. I think it is disgusting to wash what is essentially a private part in the sink where people put their dishes. If you have no problem with this, I would love to see how clean you keep your houses. I have NO PROBLEM with breastfeeding - I think it is great for those who can do it. |
| I'm sorry, how exactly is a breast pump part a PRIVATE PART? She's not washing her breast in the sink, is she? |
|
OP, I'm not a "lactivist" and I didn't BF any of my kids, but I think it's fine that someone washes the pump in the sink. I just look at it as food. Isn't your spit on a fork when it hits the sink? All body fluids are not the same. There are certain places for certain things (reminds me of the thread on peeing in the shower -- pee is for the toilet, btw).
Anyway, I think you are a little squimish about it, but I suggest you let it go. You know people wash their hands in a sink too.... and where have their hands been? (potty) Even if it's just on a door knob, that knob probably has way more germs than the breast milk/pump would. The nature of a sink is to wash hands and equipment. The water and soap do the job of cleansing. Relax already. |
I am with this PP. I BFed, but stopped before returning to work. OP - you said you're concerned about milk coming from a person you didn't know. Do you know all the cows that produce your milk? (If you do - well done!). Also, you shouldn't be leaving your dishes in an office sink. Poor form! |
|
What I am saying is, would you wash your underwear in the kitchen sink???? Obviously not! It's the same thing. |
My house is spotless and clutter-free, thanks, and I *gasp* clean my breast pump parts not only in the kitchen sink, but I then further sanitize them in the microwave! |
When I start peeing and pooping from my nipples it will be the same thing. Until then, no. |
| I think OP is either (1) Octotroll, (2) a new troll, or (3) a freaking idiot. |
Um, no. It is not. The proper analogy would be that it is the same thing as washing out a glass of milk. OP - I really hope you are a troll. If not, wow... |
HA! I am 7 months pregnant and that line made me laugh so hard I peed a little. Stupid pregnant. But seriously, that is hilarious. |
You need your head checked. How old are you? Feces and Milk are not the same. Urine and Milk are not the same. Semen and Milk are not the same. Breast Milk is similar to Cows Milk. |
LOVE this response lol! This thread keeps getting better and better...now I need some popcorn! |
