The less said/seen, the better. But more power to you if you are not shy like me! To get around washing I have a mini fridge to store pump parts during the day, and I take them home to wash a night.

I currently pump too.. 3 xs a day. This is nasty storing it without sterilizing after each pump. Get over your self and wash it out for the safety of your baby for goodness sakes

I hate the idea of people brushing their teeth in the work bathroom. eww!!! not only is it gross for them with all the public poop germs flying around, but also gross for coworkers to have public saliva all over the sink!!

you are not the only one. O've overheard my husband's coworkers (men in their 20s) being grossed out at someone's breast milk stored in the office fridge. Hearing thins convo made me disguise mine.

it is gross for people who are not currently breast pumping moms

This is disgusting OP. I am surprised how many people find it ok.

Shouting at people who are speaking from a place of ignorance doesn't convince them.

Are you okay with them brushing their teeth in the office kitchen sink?

It's actually perfectly sanitary to store the pump parts, used, in the fridge to keep them sterile in between pumping at work. This is what I did. I didn't trust that they would get clean and sanitized enough in between the 2 daily pumpings at work and so I kept them in a mini-fridge during the day and then washed them when I got home.

I think it is disgusting to wash what is essentially a private part in the sink where people put their dishes. If you have no problem with this, I would love to see how clean you keep your houses. I have NO PROBLEM with breastfeeding - I think it is great for those who can do it.

What I am saying is, would you wash your underwear in the kitchen sink???? Obviously not! It's the same thing.

Just dumb...

This thread has convinced me not to wash pump parts in any shared public area... even if some people are okay with it, if it offends other people, why do it. It is a matter of courtesy. No need to shove it in people's face.

You'd go crazy. There is always something that may offend people around you, there is no pleasing everyone. How far are you prepared to go to accommodate everyone? The best approach is to avoid doing things that would offend you if tables were turned. Treat others the way you'd want to be treated. As you see, there are plenty of people who find it acceptable to see pump parts being washed. As for others, even if you have to interact with them due to work situation, they aren't going to be your friends anyway.
