Also, the international thing is nonsense. The vast majority of my colleagues at the World Bank line in DC, Arlington or McLean.

+1 my kid's public elementary in Clarendon is filled with State Dept, World Bank and Obama Cabinet members...a few Congressman. It makes for a high turnover in friends--every few years. It is a very International elem. school.

State Dept, Obama Cabinet members, and Congressmen do not equal international. And seriously, there are only 15 Cabinet members total. How many of them are sending their kids to your school???

At this point, the sooner the Obama administration turns over, the better. It's a lot like Arlington itself. Looks good on paper, but overrated and under-performing.

Huh? this is a poor analogy. Both are great places to live in: good schools, jobs, houses, amenities. We seem to be arguing whether a burger is better than a cheese steak, when they're kinda similar and both pretty great! I'd love to be able to live in either.
