Do more attractive women go into "less difficult" careers?

I put exercise and health first, over my career.

I started at my desk job legal/scientific when I was 25. I watched my peers gain 5lbs per year. I am 42 now and barely recognize some of them.

I think I know where you work. Are most of the supervisors in their early 30s grossly overweight and obese by mid-30s? Then onto heart disease and heart attacks by their 40s. Ambulance always around the place?

How is a Harvard mom grad using her brain as a housewife?

Why are these women more amazing to me? Because they were accepted and graduated from top-notch universities which I would presume means they have a passion for studying something above and beyond home econmics. These aren't women looking for paychecks. Sorry - ladies. Get annoyed with me. These women deserve a gold star.

LOL. Platinum star?

+ 1, and then some.

If they majored in organic chemistry or engineering- I'd be impressed. The Ivy League ' Mrs. Degree' does not impress me.

"Women who grow up "pretty" generally are socialized not to try as hard because their good looks directly and many times, in subtle ways opens doors for them."

I think this is often true. I'm attractive and in a hard field, but I'm one of those ugly duckling/late bloomer types who didn't realize for many years (and many reasons) that I was attractive, so I focused on my brains.
