Do more attractive women go into "less difficult" careers?

Why are these women more amazing to me? Because they were accepted and graduated from top-notch universities which I would presume means they have a passion for studying something above and beyond home econmics. These aren't women looking for paychecks. Sorry - ladies. Get annoyed with me. These women deserve a gold star.

LOL. Platinum star?

May be there is some of that, but also 'easier' careers help women to look better. I am in a 'tough' field, and it's amazing the transformation i see in some of my women colleagues once they move on to 'lighter' jobs. They glow.

I'm sorry. Hate me. But a Harvard mom grad who chooses to stay home, after a promising career, is different than someone who was looking for a paycheck all along and didn't choose to use her brains. Two different types of women. Let the flames begin...

These women truly amaze me.

How are they more amazing than any other SAHM?

Does it take an Ivy degree to develop compassion and patience for raising a family?

I agree. I actually find it pathetic. A complete waste of $. I hope they don't have a pile of school loans as well :

...and now they are the most annoying helicopter moms that have made motherhood a job. They channel all of that energy into micromanaging and competing with other mothers.

This group is by far the most annoying. Give me a part-time mom any day... One that will pick back up when kids flee the nest.

In your "hard field", how many drop dead gorgeous women do you know or have you seen? I don't come across a lot in the legal field, and I work in BigLaw.

I went to school with someone who represented her state in the Miss America Padgent and was one of the top five. She went to law school, is a partner, and is still beautiful. Worked with someone who represented her country in Miss Universe, went to med school in US, specialized in pediatrics was involved with Project Hope, worked in a free clinic and opened her own pediatric clinic in her country. OP, I think the jerk who voiced such a stupid opinion probably couldn't make out in a whore house with a clear, plastic bag full of $100.00 bills.

Why would they amaze you? Seems like they have choices that others don't. They don't seem amazing, they just seem fortunate.

Maybe it is the Ivy League degrees that are amazing. Yes, that must be it.

Or "married men with equal ambition". Truly amazing.

How can you say that some didn't choose to use their brains? Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe, some of the these Ivy grads had more opportunities and resources that helped them get to where they did? Yeah, white middle class white women have advantages that minorities do not. Yeah, I said it.

How do you know that they're middle class white women?

Don't you think that it is hard work and long hours that make many successful women unattractive? People working high profile/pressure jobs often are in ill health. They get overweight and not enough sleep. They are up late and wake early. THey are stressed and dying.

I put exercise and health first, over my career.

Hilary Clinton perhaps? Oh wait, she was unattractive to begin with.

I started at my desk job legal/scientific when I was 25. I watched my peers gain 5lbs per year. I am 42 now and barely recognize some of them.
