12:53 and just like Obama got Joe Biden (who I am a fan of) to "normalize" him, Romney will need the same kind of VP to do the same for him.

Condi Rice's name has started to float around and I really think that she would be a good contrast to romney's style and be a good choice. Im sure conservatives would love that pick too and would actually be excited for a romney/rice ticket to the point that obama and co. will worry just a bit more about november.

im assuming you're a dem 1548 but i really dont think condi is a bad thought.

the gop would get excited with her on the ticket and it could be enough to ease their thoughts on romney being a true conservative.

bonus, shes a woman to combat the "war on women". and shes is far from dumb (ie sarah palin) and can hold her own.

mind you i am a dem saying all of this. nobody on our side will feel inclined to consider romney with rice on a ticket but will any dem consider romney anyway? this isnt about dems, its about republicans and rice fills a void. and im sure rice can do just enough to have independents consider her on a romney ticket. just some thoughts

The Republicans' only hope in the presidential race is to name a Hispanic. Everyone in the party knows this, and Rubio pretty much let it slip today that he's the pick.

Now we have to pretend it's still a mystery, so that they can make a big deal of the announcement.

I think Condi won't fly. Romney probably wants somebody like Rob Portman, but a safe choice like that doesn't do much to humanize him. Nikki Haley? Too risky to pick a new governor who happens to be female; too Palinesque. Great for the Indian vote, though. Marco Rubio. Cuban and conservative! Humanizing, though?

Don't discount Susana Martinez. She's impressive, has actually done the job of Governor without quitting halfway through, and she's Mexican American (lot more Mexicans than Cubans in the U.S.)

yes folks did see her as an empty suit but its been 4 years and she has time to change the narrative on her.

im not going out campaigning for her to be VP. i just think it would be a good strategic pick and be a nice contrast to romney.

there are others out there of course and i honestly think romney's pick isnt going to be one of the usual suspects everyone keeps putting out there (rubio, christie, etc). it wont be a shit pick like palin but it will be somebody under the radar
