What if George Zimmerman DID act in self defense?

OMG he's half hispanic! It can't be racism.

yeah, I know I was just making a broader point. It wasn't really directed at you.

This sounds like the argument "But I have black friends!"

Much like the similar "But I have gay friends!" reason why someone is not a homophobe.

No problem at all. We're cool. 8)

What if Brittany Norwood acted in self-defense? Perhaps Jayna pushed her and reached for her bag and Brittany feared for her life?

I have hispanic relatives and they are extremely racist. Anti-black. Also they deny the family native american heritage and like to pretend they are (genetically) white Europeans. For them, the whiter the better. No lie.

He was told by dispatcher NOT to follow Trayvon. End of story.

But what if it is true that Trayvon slammed George's head to the ground and started beating him mercilessly didn't George have the right to respond with deadly force and self defense as per the law? Is this just a race based crime? I just hope this isn't another Duke situation.

It's not self D when you start the fight. All tray on would known is some creepy white guy is stalking him. Ala Jeffrey D.

-Zimmerman will be looking behind his back for the REST of his life. He already has the Black Panthers with a 10k ransom out for him.

-He will likely be severely beaten or killed at some point if he is not arrested, prosecuted, etc...and even if he is and set free.

-His life is over no matter how you think about it. Yes he is still alive and that counts for something but his life is over as he knew it. And those are the consequences for his poor actions.

Z's life is far from over. There are legions of white supremacists that will welcome him with open arms. He could be an intern at The Heritage Foundation in the Fall--his daddy the retired judge will arrange his son's bright future.

wrong.

the problem is that nothing has happened to george zimmerman. no arrest. no full out investigation. nothing.

because you are hell bent on arguing the racial side of it remove it and ask yourself does it all make sense that nothing happened to him after this episode. im not talking about guilt here. im simply talking about an full out investigation into what happened and possibly charges being put against him. all this noise you and your ilk are throwing are for trial. im simply asking if you believe that a thorough investigation was conducted based on what you know how the investigation happened. is it not suspect enough of a story to you that at least zimmerman should face something for what happened.

again im not talking race at all in what im asking you so dont respond to me about black and white. i dont care for that right now

I cannot decipher what your point is at all; it is so poorly written.

sad lol. But exactly, this. How ridik would that have been as a defense? About as ridik as Z using self-defense, but alas, MD has no "shoot people dead and go scot free" statute...

ABC has police video when the cuffed Zimmerman gets out of the squad car and enters the station:

I see what might be blood on the nose but he certainly doesn't look like some one whose head is bashed in and is rushed to the ER. If so that would have been the stop wouldn't it?

The jacket is red and black and he has on what appears to be a light grey t shirt. Could he have taken off the jacket at some point and be the guy in the white t shirt?

The biggest problem in this case is the incredible incompetence of the PD to investigate the incident in a thorough and proper manner the day it happened. Z should have been arrested, a written statement taken that could be compared to future statements. Gun shot residue and toxicology tests (on Zimmerman) should have been conducted, etc. Due to police misconduct, this case has been allowed to become a racist issue, a gun control issue, a character issue, a profiling issue, a SYG issue, etc. basically because of so many unanswered questions. It has allowed Trayvon's past and character to come into question even though these issues would be irrelevant because there is no way Zimmerman could have known these things when he observed Trayvon from afar. Zimmerman's history is far more relevant (especially numerous what could be considered nuisance calls to 911 and previous history of violent episodes). The FA PD are truly at fault for the case as it stands today.
