Look, I disagree with the Church's position on contraception, but your bolded statement simply is not true. Read more about infallibility first. |
Why so many women followers then? I just wouldn't want to live my life thinking that I am bad, I am a sinner, I am less than, I am going to hell for not following all the rules a man, men have created. I am trying to be open minded, but it truly puzzles me. |

PP What is your point? Nobody has said you are going anywhere
Majority of bibles books were written by men, majority of priests are men The money a woman earns is OK for these institutions. But a woman who thinks she has say in the matter in how the funds are spent is quickly told to shut up |
I'm not the earlier poster. But: 1. The Church's infallibility doctrine is about as convoluted a concept as one can imagine. You have to admit, even many believers shake their heads at it. 2. The Church has issued statements that it considers infallible, without invoking infallibility. See women in the priesthood, where they dodge infallibility but claim that it is an unerring position. 3. Regarding contraception, Humanae Vitae was in its own words written to correct a commissions' prior work because it was not "definitive and absolutely certain". While it does not say it is infallible, for all intents and purposes it is treated that way by the Church. So while the doctrine says that the Pope can make a mistake, it does not appear that the Church admits that it is fallible on the major pronouncements related to marriage, gender, and babies. |
I don't believe most Jewish people would be excluded from normal religious rituals because of their pork-eating..or am I wrong? |
| 15:59, also should add, this seems to be an issue that effects women mostly..and how they have control or lack of control over their bodies and reproduction. I don't think pork-eating measures up as a good analogy. |

In some closed Hasidic societies, you really do not want to get caught eating pork
But I have heard that even among those, they do not care that much about what is in someone elses refridgerator And it is not nearly the same, your diet and family size are totally different things |
You are very ill-informed. I wonder, do you feel as free criticizing other religious you know nothing about? |
