I agree with you that this is ridiculous. It is consistent with research that liberals are more likely to cut ties with people due to politics. https://research.skeptic.com/who-is-severing-ties-with-friends-and-family-over-politics/ This guy is being canceled by the left for ATTENDING AN EVENT. Did he say something to offend? No. Did he do something to someone that was illegal or immoral? No. This is crazy. Yet, the left is embracing a Senatorial candidate who wears a Nazi tattoo, has multiple allegations of abuse against women, and has written some insane antisemitic and racist posts on social media in the recent past. But, attending a UFC event at the WH sponsored by a political party and a president that you abhor is a bridge too far. Total insanity. |
"I'm not interested in watching his work anymore" = "CANCELLED"? Really? So he is entitled to the eyes and money of people who aren't interested in his comedy because, why exactly? |
MAGA owns cancel culture. Have you read a newspaper in the last two years? Know anything about the DOJ, Hegseth, or your DL? |
+1. I don't have to watch this entertainer and I don't intend to. Why should I if I have better things to do with my entertainment budget? Who you watch for entertainment has nothing to do with Maine needing representation in the Senate. Watching or not watching a comedian is not going to affect our families. Having maga in charge of this country is harming our families. Collins is part of the Republican grift skimming more and more and more of your and my tax dollars to go to corrupt and zillionaire Friends and family of trump, service our increasing debt, defense contractors, unnecessary wars, oil companies, private prison corporations and on and on and on. Time for her to go. |
If Bargatze were running against Susan Collins and Platner had attended the UFC event then it would be Platner getting canceled. |

Friends of Abe, anyone? |
Is this superb satire or are you real??? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%27m_not_racist,_I_have_black_friends |
You mean the same Friends of Abe that dissolve din 2016 over fractions fighting about Trump, with the August 2016 email from Boreing stating that his new website The Daily Wire was an anti-Trump website/ That Friends of Abe? |
| ^^dissolved in |
| He can explain himself and apologize or he can tour with Rob Schneider and Vanilla Ice. |

One thing is sure -- if he wants to recover from this, having the primary voice of his response be people claiming he was "too cool for school" and laughing at people he thinks are dumb from both sides of the aisle is exactly the wrong way to do it. He was aware of how it would look. There were conversations with his team. He made the choice, and also made the choice not to mention it at all himself (despite being an avowed superfan of MMA -- you think he'd be excited about it). Any good response needs to make sense of all that. |
| His whole stand up schtick revolved on presenting himself as a basically ordinary, kinda dumb guy. Turns out maybe that wasn't actually that much of an act. |
Congrats. But most maga conservatives have to cross over and enjoy liberal entertainers since all you’ve got are kid rock, vanilla ice and Nicki Minaj. Liberals have enough celebrities and entertainers to enjoy without having to support those who dig Trump and facism. Nate could have just stayed home. He really botched this. Most people hate maga and these celebrities are so short sighted to even marginally align with this party. |
| I think it was pretty obvious this guy was MAGA even before he went to the boxing match. |
