How much did you lose today?

I follow it for investment opportunities. I know you can't time the market, but we have been buying dips and it is working out for us so far. Last big purchase was end of March!

+1. OP asked a simple question. Answer or don't, no lecture is needed.

34K "lost".

Like OP, I look every day and my behavior remains the same.

About 50K. We're not wealthy, so it was a hit since we've been trying so hard to save/invest.

I keep a spreadsheet of all of our investments, so I check quarterly and when there is major movement. I also (very) recently purchased some individual stocks - glad I scaled in so no principle was lost, just a chunk of the earnings.

Actually, futures are up.

F'in Israel, and f'in narcoleptic Don.

And yet the markets up almost 10% since late February so you’re obviously doing something wrong

That's nothing. I miss Biden. I had a years with 34% return, telework, cheap gas and groceries, $600 flights to Europe, and I didn't worry about my son being sent to war. I miss Obama too, when my SALT was not capped.

Why are you being idiotic? Clearly they are talking about unrealized losses.

Anyone want to follow up with an equally "simple" and also irrelevant how much did you gain Monday question? In pre market trading it looks like the semiconductor and ship stocks are all going up.

I missed the old days when the market was based much more on the health of the companies not politic.

This is so dumb. The stock market has gone up continuously under presidents of both political parties.

The market has gone up and up during a stupid war that most people agree is stupid. It’s because it doesn’t matter. The stock market goes up over the long run. People that think otherwise are just trying to make excuses for why they stay out of the market.

Since 2nd term, DOGE, tariffs taco , Venezuela, Iran nacho, every single time the market is up/down base on the presidents words not so much of the performance of companies. I do not recall the market react like that with other presidents. I am not staying out but stable market is better for all of us.

An unrealized loss is the same as an unrealized gain. Neither was real if you didn’t sell.
